Big Brother: Libra's Fine, But April Might Be Frying
Compassionately Written, Smart-Ass-Big-Brother-Commentary by Cindy Rutolo Dietrich
August 13, 2008
Libra may be out of the game, but she'll fine. Not April though. She's afraid she'll be frying. Renny's nomination's thrown her onto the griddle. She's practically sizzling.  I'm not going to worry about Libra though. That glimpse of her palatial estate, I mean, $400,000.00 plus, family home, confirmed my suspicions. Libra's not hurting for dough. No. Libra's going to be just fine.

I'm also not worried about Renny either. But I do feel for her. She's the one in charge as the new Head of House. But they were charging at her. No one wants to be up on the block. So as usual, the house was trying to hustle, and influence her HOH noms. But Renny, she knows what she's doing. I am feeling badly for Ollie tonight. He tried hard to save the woman he cares for.

As for Libra, after hearing little snippets of Libra conversation indicating that she's used to enjoying the finer things in life, I knew that she'd be just fine even though she's been expelled without winning the big, Big Brother bucks.  She did get a Hawaiian vacation. But she said she won't be taking her children along on the trip. In all fairness it's probably only a trip for two. I'm not sure. I'm not even sure if she's taking her husband. Probably. But she said "they needed a break." I'm not sure which 'they' she meant.  She also said she'd be leaving her children with one of housekeepers. Which made me think; how many housekeepers does she have?

Apparently she makes damn good money. Sounds like she makes $50-60 grand a year by herself. She said her hubby makes considerable more than her. SO, um, no, I'm not too worried about Libra making it on her own, out in the real world. Because it sounds like she's done a real good job thus far. And there's absolutely nothing wrong about that. Except that knowing it has affected the way I felt about her swiping that Hawaiian holiday from somebody like Michelle. For Michelle, that trip may been something she may never have been able to afford, give or do. But for Libra it just seemed like something extra to grab onto.

You don't hear it discussed much. But when I hear things about house guest's income, and/or lifestyle, they stick in my head. It definitely becomes part of that person's profile. Ultimately, depending on what's said, those details can become real decisions makers for some. From what I've heard Renny say, and she's mostly listening, income was a factor in her decision. She feels, for example, that both Jerry and April have money. But not Michelle. Perhaps that's why she made such an astonishing proposal?

It happened late that first night she was HOH. I underestimated Renny, again. She's become one of my favorites in the house. Renny and Michele are so true to themselves. But I really was shocked to hear her propose an alliance to the end with Michelle. It was a smart, and surprising suggestion on so many levels.  Everyone thinks, and has assumed that Renny and Keesha have such an alliance. Their friendship hasn't been a secret. But Keesha has steadfastly avoided any talk of an alliance. I think she finally revealed her true feelings, or lack thereof for Renny, when she refused to commit after Renny won HOH.

Renny was feeling Keesha out. Maybe more so than ever before. She was trying to find out just what kind of arraignment she's made, if any, with Memphis. Keesha wanted Angie out so she could have Memphis. She got her way, and Memphis. But they don't have an alliance. Still, she thinks he has her back. When in fact Memphis has aligned with Shady Dan behind her back. Those two think they're flying under the radar. I think Renny observes and understands far more about the twists and turns between the people in this house, than they themselves realize, or understand.

She's stood by Keesha and watched her align herself with others. First she watched her align herself with Libra and April. She did it right in front of Renny. But she left Renny out. Then, she watched her moves while HOH. She watched her drunken screaming matches afterwards. She watched her cozy up to Memphis. She's watched, and stayed quiet. And when she asked, finally, for Keesha's alliance, and opinion re: whom to nominate, Keesha left her out in the cold yet again. She pretty much told Renny, "It's your HOH. Do what's best for you."  She also, by her refusal to accept Renny's offer, cut off the hand that's been trying to hold hers for so long.

So, Renny, ever the.....
