Big Brother: Touring The Big Brother House With Big Sister

It's time for our annual tour of the Big Brother house. For season eight, we don't have to wait, any longer. Walk along with Big Sister as we tour the house and as Gracey Slick told us, "Feed your head".
I don't yet know who is responsible for this years redesign but it has been heavily influenced by Lewis Carrol's "Alice In Wonderland" and seems to have a few Disney elements as well. When I first saw it my first impression was that Extreme Makeover's Ty Pennigton and Monster House's Steve Watson had a few beers and an idea. Maybe not a good idea, but an idea.
This year is basically a redecorated version of last years house. No major new construction was involved. Gone is the 70's cheese and disco feel. We don't have the "evil" flames or the bright colors. Well, not so bright anyway.
This year they are a little more muted with a lot of pastel shades. The house portrays a sense of fantasy and whimsy. And honestly that has Big Sister a bit confused. I haven't yet connected that with the announced theme of "Worst Enemies". Perhaps what they are going for with the combination of disconnected reality with the house design and getting stuck in there with your worst enemy, is worst nightmare. For some of the hamsters, I'm sure it will be. If you could see me smile.
They say that when showing a house that "location" is everything. Well the location for the Big Brother house is a sound studio. So that does drive the price down. But you could find half a million bucks in there so you can't complain. This is Allison Grodner's idea of a whimsical entrance to the house. The ramp of doom that evicted houseguests have to trudge down to their exit interview with the Chenbot is gone. Now we have a fantasy Victorian motif. A rabbit hole indeed.
As we step through the looking glass and enter the house we find ourselves in the Living Room. Again the Victorian influences abound. Will the hamsters need to memorize the shapes and colors of the picture frames for a future challenge? What's with the Chia Heads on the end tables? Here is where we will see plotting, planing, back stabbing and way to much whining.

Because of her sisterly relation to her "Big Brother" it's really important that Big Sister's identity remain covert - we wouldn't want the parental unit getting wind of her snooping and "ground" her. Fortunately around here they can keep a secret much better than most of the major networks!
