Big Brother: Dustin's Dilemma - Courage Or Cop Out
Commentary and Report by Big Sister
July 30, 2007

Warning: Spoiler Material Below
Zach makes some very good points. Points that I have made. Points that at different times several of the houseguests have made.
Dick and Daniele are together regardless of their "personal" relationship.
The worst possible scenario is to have one of them at final two and the other on the jury. It's a guaranteed vote.
The only thing that might be worse would be to have Daniele at final two and both Dick and Nick on the jury. Two guaranteed votes.
The fact is the hamsters need to get both Dick and Daniele out of the house. Failing that Dick and Nick. And they need to do it this week and next. After that it will be too late.

I suspect that Dustin is going to take the easy way out with this. We saw how his self-interest for short term gains can rule his actions when he went for the prizes in Saturday's PoV. I think he'll go ahead and put up Nick and let the rest of the house deal with Dick and Daniele next week. To bad. A little courage could pay off here. I think if he nominated Dick we would see Dick walk out Thursday night. And I think the majority of the houseguests would admire and appreciate his move.

But I don't think he will make it.

Later in the day Dustin is down in the kitchen with Amber and although she is not crying she is whining and complaining and generally being a bitch to him.

She is feeding her face and while she eats she is bitching him out. It's really not pleasant to watch. Of course she is still pissed because he took the prizes in the PoV. Maybe he was greedy to do it, but the plan will still work and you would think she would be happy for her friend. Basically she is getting off on making him feel like shit. Dustin tells her "it has nothing to do with the two of us." Amber tells him that Nick predicted Dustin would do this and he was right. I am beginning to notice that Amber's allegiance to Dustin is transferring over to Nick. Maybe she finally believes Dustin really is gay.

She tells him "Everyone agreed to play hard to win the PoV." That's true, they did. She goes on to say "So that we wouldn't put Jameka in that spot." That's not true, there was no such agreement. She says "If it was me I wouldn't have done it. It's Okay, I'm over it, it's just fucked up. I'm just disappointed in you." And she's no where near over it.

Dustin again apologizes and tries to explain himself to her but she wants no part of it. She just keeps ranting at him. "It's fine, it's no big deal, not everybody is like me and Jameka, or like you and Jen. I'm disappointed, I didn't think you would do that. I don't want you to be mad at me because I'm being a bitch to you." And that is Amber in a nutshell. She wants to do what she wants but holds everybody else up to different standards. "Don't be mad at me because I'm being a bitch to you." Whacked. And it's interesting that she compares herself to Jameka. Well, I guess she can wish.

Dustin tells her she has been a bitch to him for the last 24 hours. She says "If you want to hold it against me, fine!" Dustin says "I'm not." She says "I'm not fake and I can't just go and be buddy buddy with you after you disappointed me. I don't mean it in a bad way, you just kind of let me down. I'm over it." Really?

Dustin reminds her that the two of them could not work together if they could not talk things out and Amber says "It wasn't a big deal. I was upset and now I'm over it, it doesn't matter. It's not like this talk helped." It didn't help and she's not over it. The worst lie you can tell is the one you tell to yourself.

Watch for her to align more with Nick, even though she thinks he is about to be nominated. Watch for her to start talking to Nick more than Dustin. It's all personal for her and if you don't do what she wants she's against you. And what she really wants is something Dustin can't give her. And that is the root of this problem.

Later the two of them are in the HoH room with.....
