The quick review:
Jen was evicted.
Jessica won HoH after Zach and Eric threw it, Amber's vision didn't come true, and Dick failed.
Last night she promised Jameka she would not nominate her.
She listened to Dick tell her to nominate Jameka and Amber and backdoor Zach.
She listened to Eric do America's bidding as he pushed for an Amber nomination.
She discussed the possibilities with Jameka including nominating one of both of the Donato's.
Before we get to the nominations I want to say something about Julie Chen. Or as I much prefer to call her, the Chenbot. This is prompted by a letter I got this morning from Kevin in Maryland who says...
"I really enjoy reading your updates (my favorite). I must say that I think Julie Chen does a great job and I don't understand your criticism of her or the continuous use of "Chenbot".
I'm having trouble imagining her job done any better. I'm sure you are thinking Stepford wives but I find her cool and charming. Please explain what she should do to improve."
I can't take credit for the nickname "Chenbot". I have no idea who came up with it first but I think it is very accurate. It reflects her wooden and stilted presentation. Something for which she has been criticized long before I came on the scene, and for her work on shows other than Big Brother. She is also criticized for the lame softball questions that she lobs at the hamsters. But I don't think that is fair. She doesn't write them.
I do think there are better options. I would love to see someone like Jeff Probst host this show. Someone with the freedom and the quick wit to ask penetrating questions. But I don't think that will happen in a show where the producers are hung up on mega-control of everything.
Overall I like the Chenbot. She's pleasant if nothing else. And by the way, she loves the nickname and has a coffee cup in her office that says "Chenbot."
Before the nomination ceremony there is a luxury competition. It appears that only the girls got to participate and they may have won the right to do so over the guys. It appears they got to choose clothes as the prizes. Dick is overheard saying that he is "glad Jen is not here to enjoy this."
Later Zach goes to Jessica and Eric. He offers them anything they want in exchange for nominating Dick and Daniele. He tells them that he is not a threat. The Donato's are. He tells them that they will have his vote to evict which ever one they want. He tells Jessica that she will have his vote plus Eric and Jameka's and that is enough to get one of them out. He goes on and on with what is good advice. But he gets no commitment from them. After he leaves, Eric calls him a "bullshit artist." That's the best laugh I've had all season.
What I think Jessica needs to do is prevent a situation where she makes final three with Dick and Daniele. Unless she wins HoH at that point the final two will be Dick and Daniele. Jessica's best chance to win the game is with a bold move right now. And that means nominating Dick and Daniele.
Sadly, she doesn't make the move that could have won her the game. She nominates Zach and Amber. The possibility exists to backdoor a Donato. If that happens the best choice is Daniele as she is the stronger competitor. But I don't think it will happen. I suspect Amber or Zach will be going home this week and if Amber does not save herself with the PoV it means America's vote via Eric will be to evict Amber. Amber will probably meet the Chenbot on Thursday.
Because of her sisterly relation to her "Big Brother" it's really important that Big Sister's identity remain covert - we wouldn't want the parental unit getting wind of her snooping and "ground" her. Fortunately around here they can keep a secret much better than most of the major networks!
