Big Brother: America's Liar Gets a Little Play Commentary by Cindy Rutolo Dietrich August 30, 2007
Eric tells her he really cares about her. "I know." Jessica says. "And I
care about you. I am glad you told me Eric."
"I know. I'm sorry." Eric says.
Jessica adds: "I would have killed you when I got out of here."
"I know. Trust me. I'm trying to rack my brain. Is there anything else?
Is there anything else?"
There sure is. But he isn't saying.
Jessica tells Eric that she thinks that she took the news pretty well. I
do too. But why?
He tries to say it's because of his feelings. But he just lets his
sentence trail away. Jess has to say the words. "It's 'cause you're in
love with me."
"My words exactly," he says. Although they were in fact hers. "I lied to you in this game but I wouldn't do it any other place than
here."
Now he's somehow justified his actions and lies by implying that his
telling her about them was an act of ...love? That makes him a better
manipulator than I thought. Although I think it has more to do with
guilt than with love.
Jessica tells him that she's fine. "I'm over it."
I hope that she's not. I hope that she thinks about this confession a
whole lot more. I think when she finds out everything, she'll feel it's a total betrayal
of her trust...and of their budding love. Jessica doesn't often express strong opinions. But she has said several
times that she doesn't care for cheaters or liars. Well Eric's lied all
through this game.
So even though they've finally kissed, I don't believe Jessica will take
kindly to this. I've often wondered why he didn't just tell her before. What was he waiting for? Was telling specifically prohibited by Big Brother?
I don't think he ever got over the fact that she even noticed him at
all. I doubt Jessica would give him a second look, if they were any
where else on earth, except smacked together in this
Big Brother world. Not because she's necessarily a snob, but because I
think she's been a finer person than Eric has been in the BB house.
Besides this bizarro world won't last forever. In fact it will be ending
very soon.
Remember the Janelle & Will connection?
I think that's the answer to the Big Brother & Big Sister question. I
think this is a showmance.
I don't think it's real.
Maybe Eric isn't as bad in the real world as he's become here. Although
he has said quite frequently, this is me.
Hopefully that's not entirely true. It would be unfortunate. Because
Eric's said some truly evil things, especially about Jen. That's why
when he said that after the show ends he's getting a BigBrother8 tattoo
I thought perhaps he should go ahead and change his name. He's certainly
earned an Evel preface too.
Of course he's had his reasons for some of these actions. Unfortunately
they all start with dollar marks.
I don't blame everything on Eric or ED. I don't know what to think about
the BB Producers any more. They seem to have no problem with cruel
remarks. Nothing is said about threats of violence. At least nothing
that we can hear.
For example about five minutes after Eric talked about punching Jen in
the face at the wrap party, he started whistling. "Please stop singing!" BB immediately and quite forcibly said. See, that to me makes absolutely no sense!
