Big Brother: Power Of Veto Frustration
Report and Commentary by Jenny Lane
Warning: Contains Spoilers
July 7, 2007
Before I get to the Big Brother PoV competition, I want to mention one conversation that happened this morning.

Apparently Nick and Jen both used to bite their toe nails! Nick said that he quit because he can't reach them anymore, and Jen said she quit "on her own." I don't even know where to begin with that one - the visual images, the grossness, it just stuns me into silence!

Now, on to the PoV. Before the competition started, Amber said that even if she wins the PoV, she's going to keep the nominations as is, because she's confident that she's safe. Doesn't she know anything and hasn't she watched the show?

Why was I frustrated you ask? The feeds were down for hours and hours and hours! No exaggeration, it was over four hours of nonstop trivia and that horrible background music. When the feeds finally came back, it was such a letdown. All four feeds were on Jen, Mike, Eric, Zach, Dick, Joe and Dustin in the HoH room playing '20 questions.' From what I could gather, that group was locked in the HoH room the entire time the competition was going on.

Cleaning up after the PoV competition.
The houseguests not in the HoH room were the ones who competed (Amber, Carol, Daniele, Nick, Jameka, and Jessica, with Kail probably hosting). Last night, I heard Dustin and Jessica talking about how they couldn't compete for the PoV this week because they also couldn't be nominated. Apparently they were wrong because Jessica was in the competition.

Why was the group stuck in the HoH room and why were they playing 20 questions nonstop? Did BB tell them that they couldn't talk any game?

Finally after another hour, the houseguests reunited in the back yard. We found out that for the PoV competition, the participants all had to hide something, and then they had to all go in search of something that someone else had hidden. Daniele even looked in the garbage "under used tampons." I wouldn't have sunk that low.

I don't know how I feel about everyone's personal stuff being torn apart. It seems to me that personal things should have been off limits. The house was completely turned upside down and as soon as they were let back inside (they were locked outside because a pipe had to be repaired), everyone started cleaning up. Some people's clothes actually got ripped in the chaos, which seems completely unfair. It took a long time to sort through and clean up the mess.

The most important development of course is that Daniele won the PoV. Even though a lot of the houseguests were talking about using the PoV to remove Amber from the nomination block, Daniele has confirmed that she's going to leave the nominations alone and not use her PoV. She doesn't like Carol, and is especially irritated that Carol for saying that she was "starving" because she hadn't eaten in four hours. Obviously, Daniele only eats every 40 hours!

Carol seemed sad that she didn't win, which is odd since she was saying that she wanted to go anyway. She was even crying about it, and Zach took the opportunity to wrap his arm around her and comfort her. Jen's idea of a pep talk was to shrug and say "everything happens for a reason, everything."

While the feeds were down and the non-competing houseguests were locked in the HoH room, we missed Dick telling Jen "what a bitch she is." Dick told Amber that being in there with Jen was like "nails on a chalkboard." He told Kail the same thing, which surprised me because Jen has spent so much time in the HoH room with Kail. Eric said that Dick went on and on about how horrible Jen is. Apparently there was also a fight between Dustin and Joe that we missed.

I wish that Daniele would use the PoV, because I'd love to see Joe nominated and evicted. He irritates me more and more every second. He doesn't say anything redeeming, but instead has convinced me that he must be bipolar. I feel bad for Dustin, having to be linked to Joe in any way at all, not to mention sexually.

I also think that Amber thinks a little much of herself. She seems to rank herself as equal to the younger and hotter girls, and thinks she has as much of a chance with the guys as anyone. I don't think the guys see it that way, and Amber needs to get a clue before she finds herself being the next Erica.

I'll leave you with the "ewwww" moments of the afternoon. As the houseguests were chatting in the backyard, Nick asked Dustin if he (Dustin) would go after him (Nick) if he was gay. My prediction is that Nick's strategy is going to be to flirt with both the girls and the guys!

I don't know why people find the need to give too much information. Jameka has the inexplicable need to repeatedly apologize for her smelly feet!
