Big Brother: The Ladies Return Commentary by Jenny Lane August 22, 2007
Late last night, Amber and Daniele returned from their field trip to New York. They told the houseguests that they took a private jet to New York, but that was all they were allowed to say until Thursday's live show. Of course everyone wanted to hear some news from the outside. Amber said that "Michael Vick did something bad."
Before the girls came back into the house, Dick actually badmouthed Daniele a little to Zach. He said that he's sick of her complaining about him. Zach chimed in and said that she's unintelligent. Dick said that Daniele doesn't talk to several others in their family.
After Amber and Daniele said what they could about their trip, they were filled in on the Jen/Dick saga of the last few days. Eric told the story, with Jen chiming in. She bragged about breaking the rules and not going to sequester. In the middle of this, Amber has the urgent need to ask if Jess and Eric are a couple.
The story continues and gets to the point that Jen eats the cottage cheese and turkey burgers. Amber asks if they're playing a joke on them, which is actually pretty funny. Then when they talk about the penalty vote, Amber asks "what's a penalty vote?" Daniele seems to be unhappy that Dick slept in the HoH room while she was away.
After Amber and Daniele get the story, it's obvious that they're mad at Jen like the rest of the household. Amber goes off on Jen and says that she doesn't have any morals or respect for the game. Jen keeps justifying it by whining that she was told she could destroy the cigarettes. (I'd love to know the real story about that.) Daniele and Amber try to turn the conversation back to their trip, but Dick keeps bringing it back to Jen.
Since Dick took Jen's stuff and hid it all in the HoH bedroom, Jen says that she borrowed some of Amber's clothes. Amber can't really be mad about that, because Jen loaned her some things to take on her trip. It's funny that Amber's clothes actually fit Jen.
Jen says that she's been told that she can eat until Thursday. Amber's mad that Jen isn't going to sequester, and says that she knew the rules before she came. Dick and Eric yell at Jen too, and then Amber tells Jen that she's "fucked up and spoiled!" Daniele pretty much keeps quiet, every now and then shaking her head and saying that "this is too much." Jameka starts in with praying aloud like she does, "take it out, take it away God, Lord take it away." She also says "I'm not that person anymore" which doesn't completely make sense to me.
Jen starts talking smack about Big Brother, the producers, the network, and the fans. I think she's losing it. She says that she needs to get back to her life, because the show is ruining it. Maybe she's realized what she looks like on TV? Nah, I don't think so. She says that what she did is a lot better than the "Hardy and the toothbrush" incident. Amber's talking about "poor Jameka."
After the public fight, Jen has a chat with Amber. She tells Amber to be careful of everyone, especially Dick and Daniele, but also Eric.
Eric got his instructions to vote Jen out, which is good and makes his life easier. He tells Jameka that he thinks it will be a unanimous vote, and it's obvious that Jameka is upset about everything.
I knew that Daniele wouldn't want Jen's stuff in the HoH room, and that's what happens next. Daniele tells Dick to give Jen's stuff back because she doesn't want any part of this. Dick agrees to give Jen back her things the next day, but says that he's going to hide them. A little later, they have a fight. Dick tells Daniele to stop telling him what he can and can't do. Daniele says that she's not, she's just saying what she likes and doesn't like. Daniele asks Dick to leave and after he does, she spends some time crying in the HoH bathroom.
Amber still believes that she's going to be the next HoH, and now thinks that maybe her PoV vision was actually for next week. She's making her nomination plans and says she's going to nominate Eric and Jessica, and then backdoor Dick.
It was a long night for the houseguests! Finally everyone went to bed sometime after 5:00 a.m., so I'm not expecting anyone to get up early!
I got an email from a reader, asking why it was ok for Eric to put mustard on Jen's stuff a while back, but not ok for Jen to bleach Dick's cigarettes. My guess is that Big Brother chose the mustard thing carefully. At the time, I thought it was odd that he only squirted a little mustard, rather than a whole bunch. Now I think that he must have been told how much to use, and they must have chosen mustard knowing that it would come out in the wash. Eric didn't destroy anything, he just did enough to create a little gossip. If Big Brother really wanted Eric to ruin something, it wouldn't have been mustard and there would have been a lot more of whatever it was.
It sounds like the Jen drama is going to be saved for Thursday's live show, and she's going to stick it out until then. I'm surprised that Jen doesn't just walk, given the fact that she knows she's leaving. If she really feels the way she does, then she should just walk out the front door. Maybe she's still holding out a little hope that something will happen and she'll be able to stay. I for one hope not, I'm completely sick of her!
