Big Brother: Jen-tard Just Wants To Have Fun
Episode 6 Recap by Jenny Lane
July 18, 2007

Previously on Big Brother 8, Carol was the first houseguest to be eliminated. Much to everyone's horror, including mine, Jen became the next HoH. After the food competition, the girls, and Joe, were put on slop for the week.
Jen proved her stupidity, arrogance, and need to be medicated to the houseguests and to America over and over during the week. From her dumb t-shirts with her name on them, to her meltdowns over unflattering photos, to talking to nobody in particular when the only people in the room are asleep, to putting makeup on every two hours, the list goes on and on. The guys even made a drinking game of it, drinking every time she said the word "I." Of course most people would realize what was going on, but not Jen the self-absorbed.
Eric's "America's Player" challenge is to get Jessica nominated for eviction. Eric failed, at least for now, because Jen nominated Dick and Daniele. She claimed it was because they brought negativity to the house, but nobody bought it. Dick had been criticizing Jen from the start, and Jen resented Daniele for her connection with Nick.
Tonight's show begins with reactions to Jen's nomination ceremony. Dick says that "Jen's an idiot, it wasn't a shock." Daniele says that Jen's jealous of her relationship with Nick. Jen tells us that she "hopes to crush people's dreams that are this negative, I don't want someone that's scandalous or crude or rude to win."
It doesn't take much to please her.
Amber gives her reaction in the diary room, and two minutes into the show she's already sobbing. Through tears and sniffles, she says "in terms of the nominations, I love them both so much." Nick says that he feels bad that the two got nominated, because it will be hard on their relationship. Dick tells Daniele that it happened because she takes attention away from Jen. He tells us that it's hard because it's going to take time away that they have to work on their relationship.
Daniele and Nick snuggle in for an afternoon nap. Nick says that Kail approached him on the first day to get in an alliance with her, Mike and Zach. He tells Daniele that he said yes because he didn't feel he had a choice back then. Now he doesn't trust anyone except Daniele and tells her that. Nick then tells Daniele that he's developed feelings for her, and hopes she doesn't feel that their relationship is just playing the game. Daniele tells Nick her secret, that she's not 21 yet. He asks her if she still has a boyfriend and she says yes.
Outside, Zach and Mike are talking about Nick, and they think that he's getting played by her. They think that he might be the weak link in their alliance. They're all voting for Daniele to go, and say that he better too.
America's player, Eric, gets his next assignment, which is to "sleepwalk and climb into bed with Joe and stay there until he throws me out." Eric looks completely thrilled with his new assignment and says "thanks, this won't be awkward at all!" Late that night, Eric sneaks into Joe's bedroom. There's already someone in Joe's bed, I can't tell who it is, it might be Jessica. There's not much room left with the two people in the bed, so Eric kind of curls up in a ball and crawls on top of Joe's legs. Joe stirs, but doesn't wake up right away. When he stirs, Eric kind of moves around as if he's confused and sleepwalking. After a few minutes, Eric laid on him a little more, but the bed was so crowded that he was half on the bed and half off. Joe doesn't wake up, so Eric gets off the bed and leaves the room. As Eric's leaving the room, it looks like Joe looks up to see what's going on. Eric failed the task since he didn't get kicked out.
The next morning, Eric and Joe are in the bathroom. Joe says to Eric, "do you sleep-do-anything?" He says that he didn't have his glasses on, and he was sleeping, and "you know how a cat lies down on you, well you were doing that to my legs." Joe says that he's not sure who it was, but it was a dark haired person. Eric says "as far as I know, nothing like that transpired" and it seems like Joe believes him.
It's time to pick players for the PoV competition. Six houseguests will compete - the two nominees, Jen, and three other houseguests selected randomly. Jen picks "houseguest's choice" to play, and she chooses Mike. Daniele picks Joe to play, and doesn't look very thrilled. Dick chooses Amber, which is good for him. Dustin is the host, and the game will begin in an hour.
That hour gives Amber enough time to sob yet again. She's all stressed about competing, and says "the fact that I was chosen to play in the veto competition is just a lot of pressure on me (sniff, sob), it's just really hard, I don't know what to do, I love them both so much."
Amber and Dustin go.....
