Big Brother: Jen Doesn't Fall For Trick Question - Wins HoH
Episode 4 Recap by Logan Huffman

In the bathroom, Carol tells Joe that she has given up way too much not to be there, saying that she gave up school, her boyfriend, and her family, and she can't go home yet, so she is going to fight. In all fairness, everyone gave up spending time with their family to be there, so she isn't alone in that aspect. She asks Joe to bring her up the next time her speaks to Zach, and try to convince him to keep him. Joe says that he will, and he does talk to Zach, telling him that the vote could go either way this week, and if Amber stays, she will have expected it, whereas Carol will feel like she owes them for saving her. Zach says that if the votes are close, then they should talk, and Joe adds that eliminating Amber would be in his personal best interest. Zach tells Joe that he agrees with him, and tells us that for his alliance with Kail, Nick, and Mike, they need to figure out the most that they can gain from either side before they make a decision, but they all need to make the same decision.
As they talk in the storage room, Nick says that they have to figure out who Amber has for sure as votes to keep her, as Nick says that she definitely has Dustin and Dick for sure, and adds that he, Mike, and Zach can flip the vote whichever way they want to. Zach says that if Carol goes, that was his only chance of having a lapdog. Nick heads up to the HOH room to discuss this with Mike and Kail, as Kail says that she doesn't care who they want to evict. Nick says that he would rather have Amber there, while Mike says that he thinks he would benefit more with Carol. Jen barges in on the conversation, saying that if she had realized a party was going on, she would have worn her birthday suit, but then corrects herself, saying that she means her outfit. God, she is so obnoxious. Nick and Mike leave, and Jen asks Kail if she thinks they will come back up to the room. Kail lies to hide her alliance, saying that it's unusual that the guys even come up there. Jen asks Kail what the guys are going to do, and Kail says that they never tell her anything. At least she's playing the game. Jen says that she thinks Joe is voting for Carol to stay, while Jessica and Dustin will vote for Amber to stay. Kail says that the house really is split.
Julie goes to speak with the houseguests, but the audio is working properly. The audio finally kicks in, and Julie points out the first two nominees of the season, saying that it is never easy deciding who to evict. She goes to Jen, asking her what it was like deciding who to evict. Jen looks shocked that Julie spoke to her, asking aloud why she was asked a question. Jen says that making the decision was fun, and gives an odd laugh, saying that she wasn't prepared to answer anything. Julie laughs, asking her if that is how she is going to answer the question. Jen falls back in laughter. Jen is an idiot! Her IQ can't be over ten!
Julie asks Eric the same question she just asked Jen, and Eric responds that it was really hard, as neither woman deserved to be up there, and it will be disappointing for whoever has to go tonight. Well, the decision was actually easy for him, since we made it. Julie goes to Jessica, saying that she and Carol seem to have buried the hatchet and are getting along well, and asks her how she feels about Carol possibly being evicted tonight. Jessica says that if Carol is evicted tonight, it was her time to go and wasn't anything that she campaigned for, and if she goes, it was the house's decision. Julie asks Carol what her feelings are towards Jessica right now. Carol says that Jessica is just like another houseguest that she has never spoken to or seen, and the Jessica that she remembers from high school is completely different.
Julie goes to Dick, asking him how it has been now that he has spent some time with his daughter. Dick says that it has been interesting, and at least they are talking, even if it is on a cordial, surface level, and they are taking baby steps, as he adds that walking in and seeing her was so much fun, as it was kind of unexpected. Dick finishes off by saying that it is kind of hard. Julie turns to Daniele, asking her what it has been like for her. Daniele says that it has been awkward and uncomfortable for her, and it is an odd situation for her to deal with in front of so many people, but luckily, the houseguests have been really nice and caring about it, which has made it easier.
Julie goes to Joe, and mentions that there has been some tension between him and Dustin. Really? Julie asks Joe what the nicest thing is that he can say about Dustin. As we see Joe digging to come up with something, he says that Dustin has a beautiful smile, but it is purely surface level. Damn, that wasn't nice at all! Dustin is more prepared as Julie asks him, as he says that Joe has a winning personality. The others burst out laughing, and I don't think Dustin was being serious. I'm glad that Julie had them lie about each other, as they clearly don't have anything nice to say about one another.
It's time to go in the Diary Room, as we see what Dustin, Joe, Nick, Jen, and Jameka have to say about the two nominees. Dustin says that he would want to keep Amber in the house because she is his alliance right now, and is the closest person to him in the house. Joe says that Carol would be great to have around because she isn't closely aligned with Dustin. Jen says that she would keep Carol in the house because she isn't aligned with everyone, and she would be much easier to use later. Why does Jen think she will be around later? Nick says that he wants to keep Amber in the house because he feels like he has a strong bond with her, while Jameka says that the reason Amber should go is because she is a strong competitor in the game. Joe says that he would want to evict Carol because she seems to have some inconsistencies with her attitude, and it makes him a little weary. Nick says that a reason to evict Amber would be because she is getting really close to Dustin, and he isn't sure where his head is at. OK, I could make a dirty joke there, but I'll digress. Of course, we don't see any of their votes.
Julie tells us that before entering.....
