Julie tells us that before entering the 'Big Brother' house, it had been nearly two years since Daniele had talked to her dad, Dick. To try and get to the bottom of the family feud, they asked Dick's son, Vincent, and Dick's mom, Charlotte, exactly what kind of father "Evil Dick" really is. Dick asks Kail what her opinion of him as a father is, and she says that she doesn't have an opinion, but Dick doesn't buy it. Vincent says that Daniele and Dick haven't spoken because he once let her borrow money for something, and she was unable to pay it back. Vincent adds that Dick didn't handle it properly, so Daniele just quit talking to him completely, and two years passed. Daniele tells us that things have been going on so long, and she doesn't know what her dad can do to change their situation. Nick tells Daniele that he likes her dad, but she reminds him that he isn't his dad. Nick understands her viewpoint, and Daniele adds that she grew up with her grandparents, and Dick has never really been there.
Dick's mom, Charlotte, tells us that Dick became a father at only 22, and she thinks that the whole fatherhood aspect was confusing for him and wasn't what he expected, adding that like most parents, they don't realize that their life is over as they know it and it is a entirely different life. Charlotte says that she thinks Dick is trying to get close to Daniele, and he has always wanted to be close to her. As we see Dick crying in the living room, he tells us that this is a lot harder than he thought it was going to be, and while this could be really good for their relationship, it could also destroy it, and that's the catch 22. Dick tells Nick that at least he and Daniele are talking now, as Dick tells us that he has the hardest game in the house, as he is there to win $500,000, but is also there to win the love of his daughter back. Vincent tells us that it is important to him for Dick and Daniele to mend their relationship, as they have a small and broken up family, and they can't lose what they have. I really hope that Daniele and Dick are able to come out of this with a healed relationship, or at least on the path in the right direction.
Julie tells us that since entering the 'Big Brother' house, Kail has emerged as a strong player, winning the first HOH and forming an alliance with three young, strong men who have been at her beckon call. Julie talks to Kail, who is alone in the HOH room, as she reminds her that the other houseguests cannot see or hear them. Julie asks her about her alliance, asking why she decided to form an alliance with all men. Kail says that while that wasn't her plan coming in to the house, Zach approached her first, and being that there was such an age difference between her and the other women, she ran with Zach's idea. Julie says that the men have been responding well to her in the house, bringing up Eric's "emotional conversation" he had with Kail, and asking her if she was surprised that he would confide in her like that. Kail says that she was at first, but being that she is older and less talkative, she thinks that he felt that he could trust her. OK, 38 is not old. She talks like she is 90. Julie thanks Kail for the conversation, and says that Kail can rejoin the group downstairs.
Going back to the Diary Room to see what Zach, Daniele, Dick, Mike, and Jessica have to say about the nominees, Zach says that he is open to keeping Carol in the house after she opened up to him and decided that she wanted to be part of the game. Daniele says that she wants to keep Amber in the house because she is a really nice person, as Dick says that Carol is only looking for a place to sit her tiara at night, as she is one of the "Princess Crew". Mike says that a reason for keeping Carol in the house is that her loyalty to him down the line would last longer than it would with Amber, while Daniele says that it would be a little risky to keep Amber there, as she is playing the game whole-heartedly and at full force. Mike says that the only reason to evict Carol is that he thinks she is a stronger player than Carol. I don't agree with that. Jessica says that she wouldn't want to keep Carol in the house at all, but she does like watching Carol trying to save herself, but she isn't going to. Damn! I wonder who Jessica will vote out.
Julie tells us that Eric is facing a challenge unlike any other 'Big Brother' houseguest, as he is the very first America's Player. Only Eric knew that he was coming into the house as America's Player, while his family and friends did not. We go to a viewing party in New York with Eric's family and friends, as Eric's brother (who is exactly like him personality-wise) puts up a cardboard cutout of Eric. Eric's brother Josh tells us that Eric has watched every season of 'Big Brother', and he can't imagine someone who wants to be there more than Eric. His family cheers as we see them watching last week's episode of 'Big Brother' when it aired. Eric's dad says that Eric is pretty much a historian of 'Big Brother', and he could pretty much tell us what every contestant did and did not do, and he has plotted this out in his mind for eight years, and belongs in the house. Eric's friend Matt says that he thinks the girls in the house will really like Eric, as he is a charming, charismatic guy. Another word comes to my mind about Eric, but it isn't charming or charismatic. As Julie talks about America's Player, Josh tells us that he thinks that being America's Player would really rattle any preconceived notions Eric has, and he hopes that Eric isn't America's Player. We wish for the same thing, but unfortunately, we know better. His family doesn't seem happy when they see that Eric is America's Player, as Matt says that he has mixed feelings, as Eric is such a fan, and they aren't sure that Eric will be able to do everything that he wants now. Matt says that he does think Eric will roll with America's Player, and will have an advantage of having America behind him. Josh says that he thinks America will be behind Eric, and he thinks that Eric knows 'Big Brother' well enough that this twist will just excite him. His family toasts to Eric bringing him $500,000 at the end of the summer. If that happens, it will be like Maggie winning all over again.
We now go to the Diary Room to see.....
