Big Brother: The Liar Is Lied To - Vindication For Dick
Episode 7 Recap by Logan Huffman
July 20, 2007
Previously on 'Big Brother 8', after Carol's eviction, the universally hated Jen unbelievably won HOH, worrying all of the other houseguests except for the always oblivious Kail. At nominations, Jen nominated estranged father and daughter Dick and Daniele for eviction. Meanwhile, Nick and Daniele grew closer, as Nick also grew closer to betraying his original alliance. While Jen's intentions were clear to eliminate Daniele, the plan was turned upside down when Daniele won the Power of Veto, removing herself from the chopping block, while Jen happily wore a unitard she won in the HOH competition, while Kail and Amber remained handcuffed for twenty four hours. Caving into the pressure from the house, Jen nominated Joe in Daniele's place, prompting Kail to rally for Dick's eviction. Who will be evicted tonight?

Julie and her anorexic figure welcome us to the second live eviction, where we learn that the houseguests will be casting their votes to evict live. Wow, I think that is the earliest they have ever done that in a season! Julie recaps the week's events for us, adding that the explosions from the week are far from over, as just when things seemed to be decided, another blowup occurred, and now, everything's up in the air.

America's Family? Fans are fascinated by the relationship
mending between Daddy Dick and Daughter Daniele.
Heading inside the house, we see a flashback of the veto ceremony. Jen tells us that Joe is a very big liar and unpredictable, and is always stirring the pot, which makes for a lot of reasons to send him home. Dustin tells us that he had a wave of ecstasy when he realized that Joe was on the block and could be evicted. Daniele tells us that while she doesn't want to see her dad leave this week, she is just glad that she is safe, but it will still be difficult voting someone out. As Dick and Daniele hug him, Joe tells them that he is alright and not to worry about him. Dick tells us that he is confident he will stay, as he knows he has formed better bonds than Joe. Joe tells us that his feeling about going against Dick as a nominee is that he is screwed. Truer words were never stated. Joe adds that while it is going to be tough, he may be able to get more votes.

Joe pulls Daniele off in the bathroom, and she apologizes to him. Joe doesn't blame her, saying that she was on the block, and was clearly the main target, and although she seems to have had the votes, you can never know what will happen. Joe tells us that he isn't a sad, weepy rain cloud that is going to hang around and drag everyone down, and he certainly isn't going to cry like the women did last week, but he hopes that he can convince people to keep him around.

Sitting upstairs on the sofa in front of the HOH room, Joe tells Kail that he knows that he is a pot stirrer from time to time. Kail tells Joe that he has never bothered her, and Joe begs her, saying that he wants to stay really bad. Outside, he says the same thing to Mike, adding that Mike's vote would show Joe that he had confidence in him. In the bedroom, Joe tells Jessica that he really doesn't want to go home, and that he is so close to staying, if he can only get Kail, Eric, and Dustin (that's a long shot) he can stay for sure. He adds that he may be able to sway Mike and Zach as well. Jessica tells us that Joe cannot be trusted, and she can't keep him knowing that he will turn on her if it suits him. As Joe snuggles up to Jessica at night and plays his little sad puppy card, Jessica tells us that she thinks she is going to vote for Dick to stay.

The next day, Eric heads into the Diary Room to learn who America has told him to evict. Unsurprisingly, America has chosen Joe, which seems to make Eric very happy. Outside, Dick and Kail are in the hammock, as Dick tells Kail that she has made an enormous target on herself with her alliance with Mike. Dick adds that she is kidding herself if she thinks it is secret, as he see her and Mike huddled all of the time talking game with each other. He tells her that she is busted. Kail tells us that her biggest concern with Dick is that he will go after people in her alliance. Wow, she takes a while to catch on, doesn't she? Kail tells Dick that she is voting for him to stay, and if she changes her mind, she will let him know. I'll believe that when I see it. Dick tells us that he is feeling really good, as he knows he has six or seven votes locked up for him to stay.

Kail runs up to the HOH room, telling Mike that they really have to vote Dick out, as no one else will go after him. Mike says that he doesn't trust Dick either. Kail says that they already have three votes with her, Mike, and Nick, and they will tell Zach that the majority of the group wants to vote off Dick to get his vote. Kail tells us that ten houseguests are able to vote this week, so if she can get five, Jen can break the tie. Idiotically, Kail has convinced herself that she can get Daniele to vote out Dick. I think she is absolutely insane. Kail says that she will play the card that Daniele will have so much more fun playing the game without the tension of her dad being there with her.

Downstairs, Kail sits down on the couch to talk with Daniele......
