Big Brother: Jen Doesn't Fit In - Jessica's Back In Episode 22 Recap by Logan Huffman August 24, 2007
Previously on 'Big Brother 8', after Jameka and Amber were blindsided by Dustin's eviction, Daniele once again became the Head of Household, nominating former allies Amber and Jameka for eviction. At the Power of Veto competition, Amber and Daniele became the last two competitors, earning themselves a trip to New York City to be on the new CBS game show 'Power of Ten'. Daniele ultimately won the Veto, crushing Amber's hopes of remaining in the house. But after Daniele struck a deal for safety with Amber, Daniele chose to remove Amber from the block with the Golden Power of Veto, and longtime enemy Jen became the replacement nominee. Who will be evicted tonight?
Julie welcomes us to tonight's show, looking lovely in her slim black dress. She quickly recaps the week's events for us, and then we head into the house to see the most recent eruption. We see the flashback of the Veto ceremony. Jen tells us that obviously, she isn't close with Daniele, as Daniele is clearly a liar. Jameka congratulates Amber on being saved, and then tells us that she is very happy that Jen is the replacement nominee, as it is likely Jen will go home.
Dick Lite
Daniele tells Jen that they can talk whenever she wants to. What is there to discuss? You stabbed her in the back after she saved your asses last week. End of conversation. Jen responds that it is just weird, as she wouldn't have done that to her. Daniele tells us that she doesn't really see Amber or Jameka as a threat, but Jen is a loose cannon, so she poses much more of a risk. Daniele apologizes to Jen for nominating her.
Later, Jen is working out in the gym, and Dick walks in. Dick says that what Daniele said is right, and Jen says that she understands that. He says that everyone in the house resents the fact that she couldn't give a shit about the money. Jen says that for her, the show just isn't about the money. Dick says that she said from the beginning that she didn't care about the money, it didn't matter to her, and it wouldn't change her life. Jen says that she didn't say the money wouldn't change her life; she just isn't sure it would change it for the better. Dick says that every person in the house said that someone who doesn't want the money shouldn't be there. Jen says that they said that someone shouldn't be there if they don't want to be there. Dick asks her why she keeps saying no when he is telling her what they are saying.
Jen responds with a simple "Oh, okay." Dick tells her that she shouldn't be bitter at Daniele, when she did what everyone wanted. Jen says that Daniele isn't getting her vote no matter what was said. Dick says that she should concentrate on staying instead of being a bitter bitch. As he walks out, Jen says that she doesn't care, and she isn't bitter.
Up in the HOH room, Jen comes in to see Daniele. Jen sits down and asks her what in the world is going on. Daniele tells her that she is her biggest competitor on a strategic level, and they have had problems all along the way, as she has made it clear that she wants Dick out of the house, which clearly isn't the best move for Daniele. Jen says that she helped to save her dad, which was hard for her. Jen begins to tear up, and she says that she doesn't know why she is crying, and it is awkward. Daniele tells Jen that they are both the biggest competitors in the house, and Jen says that she knows, and it is fine. Daniele says that it is personal. As Jen leaves, she tells Daniele to have fun on her journey with Amber. I know I wouldn't have fun being trapped anywhere with whiny crybaby Amber. Jen tells us that she is very angry at Dick and Daniele, but she always ends up with the last laugh, because she is having fun even when she is crying.
Downstairs, Amber and Daniele get paged to the Diary Room, which excites them, as they know it signifies the start of their trip. After they leave, Jen, Dick, and Jameka are all sitting outside. Jen says that she can just go to the Sequester house. Jameka asks her why, and Jen responds that it will just kill her. Jameka says that she has to weigh out her options. Jen says that if she doesn't go, she will lose her vote. Jameka tells us that all of them have given up so much to be there, and for someone to be so nonchalant about their obligations really degrades the integrity of the game. Jen says "Whatever!", and gets up and leaves.
