Big Brother 9; Recap

It’s time for another season of Big Brother! By now, we all know the ropes, right? A bunch of people get locked into a house and spend the next few months obsessing about who likes who, and who is lying to whom. Someone wins the right to be Head of Household, and that person nominates two people to be evicted. Then the house votes, and someone gets voted out each week. Of course let’s not forget the Power of Veto competition, which has the potential to change the nominations.
Before we go any further, let’s take a look at who we’ve got in the house this season:
Adam is a 29 year old Public Relations Manager, currently living in Florida, who is single. He holds a master’s degree in fashion design and marketing, which I find quite interesting. He got his degrees from a college in New Jersey, as well as Parson’s in New York and a school in Italy. Despite the stereotype that might be jumping into your mind right about now, Adam says he likes “aggressive women who know themselves well” and considers himself to be “quite the Casanova.” He also says he doesn’t back down from a fight and isn’t intimidated. Adam has short blonde hair, is somewhat prematurely balding, and strikes me as a guy who thinks he’s better looking than he is.
Amanda is a 23 year old Paralegal from Minnesota who is single. She has a bachelor’s degree in paralegal studies and political science, and currently works in a health care insurance company. Amanda says that her mom is her best friend, loves to cook, and is a hopeless romantic. She also likes to run, shop, dance, and has two cats. If you’re thinking that Amanda is a little too squeaky clean to be true, then you’re on the same wavelength as I am. I think she’s playing up to the stereotypes of the nice girl from Minnesota, and is going to try to use that to her advantage. She’s cute and has long brown hair, but isn’t what I’d call bombshell gorgeous.
Alex is an adorable 24 year old from New York. He’s single, and is a DJ Entertainment Company Owner. He has a bit of a sad story – apparently his father entered his life when Alex was in high school, and then was killed in the World Trade Center on 9/11. Alex has a bachelor’s degree in business, marketing and advertising, but is now working on his second masters’ degree in education. He likes hanging out with friends, playing hockey and soccer, and music. His favorite movie is “Wedding Crashers” and says he’s a romantic guy. Aww…. But seriously, he really is adorable, and has a very trustworthy face. With his combination of education and looks, I think Alex is going to do well

CBS has picked up the reality series BIG BROTHER, hosted by Julie Chen, for an eighth installment to be broadcast this summer.
BIG BROTHER premiered in July 2000 and has been a key component of CBS' summer programming ever since.
