Big Brother 9;
Live Feed Commentary
Episode 1 February 13, 2008
Commentary by Jenny Lane
The first night in the Big Brother house was a wild one! In case you missed the first episode on TV, I’ll quickly give you the short version. Sixteen houseguests entered the Big Brother house last night, all of them are single, and most of them are young and attractive. This year, Big Brother has paired each houseguest with someone that they have picked to be their “possible soulmate.” The pairs will do everything as teams – compete, get HoH, get nominated, and get evicted. Here’s the list of couples:
Alex and Amanda
James and Chelsia
Natalie and Matt
Jen and Parker
Joshua and Neil
Ryan and Allison
Sheila and Adam
Sharon and Jacob
In addition, there were two more surprises. Jen and Ryan are an actual real life couple, and would try to keep their relationship a secret. Sharon and Jacob are real life exes, and Sharon is still holding some big-time resentment towards Jacob. Sheila is the “older woman” of the group, and loudly voiced her unhappiness about being paired with Adam, who seems like a nice enough guy.
Jen and Parker won the first HoH competition, and won the power to vote one couple out right away, which is when the TV episode ended. It took a while for the live feeds to come up. By the time they did, Jen and Parker had already voted Sharon and Jacob out, and Alex and Amanda had become the next HoH couple.
The other development that we missed was the secret getting out about Jen and Ryan’s relationship. I’m not sure how it happened, but it had something to do with Allison. It seems that now several people don’t trust her, and sounds like she may have been the one to spill the beans.
