Big Brother 9;
Episode 15
“He’s baaaack!”

Recap By: Jenny Lane
March 16, 2008

Previously on Big Brother 9, with Ryan back in the house and now HoH, he promised James’ side that he would betray his best friend Matt. Sheila then convinced Ryan that James’ side was just using and manipulating him, and that backdooring Matt wouldn’t be a smart move. Ryan decided to completely switch gears and nominated James for eviction when Chelsia used the PoV on herself.

Sharon told Sheila that Matt had kissed her when she was HoH, which was a shock to Sheila. Sheila took the information to Natalie, who then targeted Sharon, who was nominated against James, with her anger. Natalie told Matt that she had changed her mind and wanted Sharon out. Matt blew up, made threats, and basically had a temper tantrum.

When the votes were read, James was evicted from the Big Brother house by a vote of 5-1, with only Chelsia voting for James. Just as everyone was getting used to the idea of having James gone, the sirens went off for a second time. Julie informed the houseguests that they had a choice between bringing James back, or a “previously evicted houseguest in a mystery box” (who America had chosen). With a vote of 5-3 this time, James was voted back into the house.

Tonight’s episode begins during the HoH competition. It’s an endurance competition, which is why it didn’t finish during last week’s show. The houseguests are hanging onto giant disco balls, balancing on a little disc and grabbing onto a large chain. As they hang on, they spin around and move up and down like they’re on a merry-go-round, and ‘champagne’ spews out at them.

James tells us that he wants to win to get his dignity back, because “they stripped me of that when I left and now I’m coming back, and winning HoH would be monumental.” (Personally, I think loss of dignity is a little overly dramatic.) Chelsia says she realized she can’t trust anyone in the house because everyone lies. Josh says he felt bad for betraying his friend.
