Big Brother 9;
The Finale
Finale Recap by Jenny Lane
April 27, 2008
The final two got questioned by the jury late on Thursday night. Following the questioning, the boys were up late, so I think that they’ll be allowed to sleep in on Friday.
Previously on Big Brother 9, sixteen houseguests moved in, and began the battle for a half million dollars. Soon after they got to the house, they were shocked with the announcement telling them that they would be playing the game as couples with their new soulmates.
Finalist Adam and his partner Sheila, the oldest in the house by far, clashed from the very beginning. The other finalist Ryan, was placed in the house with his real life girlfriend Jen. However, they were not partnered together and didn’t tell anyone right away that they were a couple.
When Jen and Ryan did reveal their relationship secret, they were immediately targeted for eviction. Jen and her partner Parker were the first of the couple to be evicted. Allison and Ryan were evicted after them. However, in a surprise twist, one of them was allowed to return to the house. Much to Allison’s surprise, it was Ryan who was brought back to the game.
After Ryan’s return, the couples were split up and it became every man (and woman) for themselves. Ryan, Adam and Matt became allies, and targeted James for eviction. However, James became HoH, and Matt was the one who was evicted.
Needing a third person in their alliance, Ryan and Adam brought in Matt’s former partner Natalie, and Adam’s former partner Sheila. They called themselves ‘Team Christ,’ and dominated the next few competitions. As they kept their HoH control, they targeted James for eviction repeatedly. Unfortunately for them, James proved to have nine lives and kept winning the PoV. Team Christ then targeted the next best thing, James’ alliance members. Chelsia was the first to go, and then Josh.
Finally after weeks of trying, Ryan and Adam were successful in evicting James once and for all. With the numbers dwindling, both boys made secret alliances with other housemates. Adam promised Sheila that he would take her to the end, and Ryan made the same promise to Sharon.
Natalie started to become too obvious as she played all sides of all of the alliances, and the boys called her out on it. Natalie took it hard, and in front of Sheila, pledged her allegiance to the boys. When it came time to vote, the boys split their votes between Natalie and Sharon. This forced HoH Sheila to break the tie and send one of the girls packing, and she chose to evict Natalie.
Down to the final four, the boys made plans to go to the final two together. Adam convinced Ryan that Sheila would be easier for them to overthrow at the end. Adam was the only vote, and he voted to evict a surprised Sharon.
Proving their theory correct, Sheila performed dismally in the final HoH competition. Ryan became the final HoH, and voted to evict a sobbing and stunned Sheila.
