Big Brother 9; Episode 32
Sheila’s Tears Run Dry
Recap by Logan Huffman
April 27, 2008
Previously on ‘Big Brother 9’, Ryan became the new HOH, and staying loyal to Adam, nominated Sharon and Sheila for eviction. However, Ryan became distrustful of Adam after he tried to strike a deal with Sharon to go to the final two. After Ryan won the Veto, he called Adam out on his tactics, which Adam denied. At the Veto Ceremony, despite being unsure of Adam’s loyalties, Ryan stayed true to him and didn’t use the Veto. With Adam having all of the power, he stayed true to Sheila, evicting Sharon from the ‘Big Brother’ house. Ryan, Sheila, and Adam then began the final three-part HOH competition in a water endurance competition. Who will win the final HOH and who will be the final two?
Julie welcomes us to tonight’s show, recapping last night’s eviction events for us. We pick back up where we left off, as the three remaining Houseguests continue to battle to win the first part of the final HOH competition in the water endurance competition. Sheila is already screaming that the water is cold, as she explains to us that this HOH competition is really important, because whoever wins this first part will advance to the final HOH round. Adam says that he is soaking wet, while Ryan also says that the water is cold. Sheila tells us that the water was like ice water, and it felt like there were cubes in it. Sheila continues, saying that she is up there in the freezing cold and battling one of her biggest fears. She explains that in Hawaii one time, there was a hurricane coming through, and she almost drowned, and it just terrified her. Sheila tells the guys that she is afraid of the water. Adam helpfully exclaims, “It’s cold, Sheila!” Sheila adds that she knew she just had to face whatever her fears were, because she is playing for half a million dollars, so she can’t just drop off. Adam just keeps laughing and saying that it is cold outside.
The Houseguests have now been hanging on for 22 minutes. Adam yells for ‘Big Brother’ to raise the platform they are on up steeper. Sheila tells him to stop. Adam begins mocking Sheila, calling her honey, asking her what’s up, and asking what she is worrying about. Adam tells Sheila that she should be excited to be in the house, as she was on her way out the frickin’ door. Ryan admits to Sheila that she was close.
We are taken to the flashback of Adam evicting Sharon. Sheila tells us that she was absolutely blown away when Adam decided to keep her, as she was convinced she was walking out the door, and it wanted to make her cry. Sheila adds that Adam is the guy she was set up with on the first day in the house, and even though she hated him, he turned out to be her best friend; the fact that they are still standing is blowing her mind right now. Ryan says that since he had deals with Sharon and Ryan, Adam getting rid of Sharon was doing his dirty work for him, so he didn’t look bad. Adam says that things couldn’t have gone any better for him, as he got out a strong threat, and it solidified the bond between him and Sheila, so if she does win the final HOH, she will take him with her to the end.
