It’s time for a new season of Beauty and the Geek! This season, things are different. Instead of it being teams of one beauty and one geek, it’s going to be the beauties vs. the geeks. There is also one gay geek, which seems to be an odd addition to the mix. I can’t see how this is going to work. Part of the charm of the show was to see the couples get to know each other and depend on each others. Now it’s going to be more like Real World/Road Rules and much less unique.

The premiere episode begins with introductions of the geeks, who are brought to an airplane hangar in a big white truck. We have:

John, a child genius, who says he is a “recovering Microsoft addict.” John is ok looking with his somewhat bushy brown hair, geeky glasses and goofy smile.

Greg, our gay geek. He says he’s a gamer, but then corrects it and says he’s a “gaYmer.” Greg is Asian, has glasses and has the kind of face that you want to pinch.

Joe, the cowboy. In his intro, he says “I don’t remember the last time I made love to a woman and I miss the feeling, actually I don’t, it’s kind of overrated.” Joe wears the full western wear, including a huge hat and stereotypical cowboy shirts. He’s got reddish brown hair, a scruffy beard, scraggly moustache, and glasses.

Chris, an oceanographer who says his best pickup line is “hey babe, are you complex, because that ass is unreal.” Chris is tall, skinny and gawky in the way he moves. He too has glasses, and maybe even a receding hairline.

Matt, the poet. Matt looks like Chris’ chubbier brother. He has the same glasses but they’re thicker, and the same receding hairline. He’s one of those poets that is all too eager to share their stuff. In his intro, he sets one of his poems to music, if you want to call it that. It sounds like a really bad American Idol audition.

Tommy, who professes to be a ‘sweater vest enthusiast’ and says he has 30 of them. He’s actually really cute, and looks like he might be the one to turn out hunky after the makeovers. He’s tall and has brown hair and attractive features.
