Biggest Loser 4: They Should Have Just Entered the Race Episode 4 Recap by Donna Emery
October 4, 2007
This week on the Biggest Loser 4, the Blue Team got cold feet at the challenge and led to another tough elimination.
The week began with hostess Alison Sweeney welcoming the teams to another temptation. There were three silver trays on a table and Alison told the teams' trainers to go to the tables. But instead of tempting the contestants again, it would be the trainers' turn to be tempted. When the covers were removed, the trays held some great-looking cupcakes.
Alison told the trainers that they were big on telling their charges to "take one for the team" and that they should go out of their way to get any advantage that will help them all. She said that the first trainer to eat a cupcake would earn 15 seconds' advantage for their team in the upcoming challenge. She further hinted that the advantage would be a great help in that challenge, and that the teams really wanted to win the challenge.
The contestants were amused at the thought of their healthy trainers eating cupcakes. Julie said she'd love to see Jillian eat one of the treats. Neil thought that Bob might eat one, because he was competitive.
When Alison asked the teams if their trainers should eat a cupcake, Neil quickly responded "yes!" Isabeau said that none of them should eat one, because "they need to practice what they preach." David said "Kim wouldn't want me to eat one, so she shouldn't."
Jillian said that there was no need for her to eat a cupcake, because they could win without an advantage. Bob was hesitant for a moment, because cupcakes are his "thing." Neil explained that "to Bob, cupcakes are like Kryptonite." Bob seemed to be tempted, and said that one of them was calling his name.
In the end, none of the trainers ate a cupcake, and Alison - and the contestants - were impressed.
Isabeau commented that in the past, all of them would have thought nothing of eating all of the cupcakes, and had failed at resisting them. Now, all of them were learning to make better choices.
Bob decided to reinforce his teaching about healthy foods by taking his team to Subway for lunch. He said that he wanted to show them that they could go out and still make healthy food choices. He reminded them that "the sky's the limit!" with vegetables.
After lunch, all three teams climbed a hill to get to the challenge. Ryan was concerned because he was out of breath just going up the hill.
Alison reminded the Black Team that they had not yet had to eliminate any of their members. She wondered how this affected their feelings about this challenge. Jez said that the challenge was just as important as any other, but that their main focus was the weigh in.
In the distance, the teams could see a distant peak with three stands. Each stand had one of the teams' colors on it. Alison told them that they were to guess how long it would take four of their members to go down to the stand, pick up their flag and return with it to the starting point. She explained that the teams were to bid on the challenge; the two teams who bid the lowest would get a chance to race. The team that bid and met its goal would win the challenge. Alison further hinted that all of them really wanted to win the challenge, because the reward would impact on the weigh in. She also said that she couldn't tell the teams what the reward would be.
The teams huddled and decided which.....
