Biggest Loser 4: Here's The Initial Rankings

This week on the Biggest Loser 4, the 12 members of the Red and Blue
Teams weighed in and got their first experiences with the weekly accounting of weight loss. That resulted in some impressive numbers.
This season has begun with many changes. We no longer have the perky
presence of Caroline Rhea as hostess, and so far Alison Sweeney seems to
be doing a great job with her duties. Bob and Kim haven't changed,
but they didn't get to pick their teams this year. The contestants don't
live on the "Biggest Loser Ranch" anymore; they are staying at the new
Biggest Loser "Campus". It doesn't look much different to me.
And then there's Jillian. Last year, the contestants were blindsided
by the return of the winners of the at-home competition. This year, the
six contestants who were not chosen to be on the teams were "adopted"
by Tough Cookie Jillian - who has called them the "Black Team" and is
whipping them into shape in order to help them face their rivals as soon
as next week.
It's hard to get a handle on the contestants this early in the game.
Some of them have shown us a bit of what they are like, and others are
not yet distinguishing themselves from the group. I know from past
experience that we'll get to know them better as the weeks go on.
For now, I am ranking only the Blue Team and Red Team - because we
don't yet know the Black Team's stats. I am ranking them in order of their
total percentage of weight loss - since that is what the producers
will use to pick the overall winner.
Jerry

This former Golden Glove champion is not letting his age slow
him down. The 62-year old grandpa from Illinois wants to ride in a
cross-country bike race with his wife of 40 years.
What an amazing start! This man is an inspiration for anyone, let alone other senior
citizens. I hope he can keep up this pace. He's now lost 11.1%
Kae
Current Ranking: 2 - Previous Ranking: None
She's a former soldier who wants to be fit when she visits her
family in Korea. The 27-year old from New Jersey is also looking forward
to looking slimmer for her high school reunion.
The smallest of the ladies lost the second highest percentage of weight. Kae's got an
infectious smile and a friendly personality. I'd love to see her go far. She's now lost
8.89%
Phil
Current Ranking: 3 - Previous Ranking: None
He's a former firefighter who wants to be more active. The
27-year old dad from Ohio wants to be able to spend more time with his
daughter.
The Red Team captain seems like a nice guy, and he gave Amber the benefit of
the doubt. I think he'll be a good example to his team. He's now lost 6.45%
David
Current Ranking: 4 - Previous Ranking: None
He's a proud father of 4 from Tennessee. The shy Southern
31-year old gentleman wants to resume teaching his kids to enjoy horseback
riding.
What a sweet and sincere guy! I like his determination and his shy smile. He's lost 5.43% so far.
Neil
Current Ranking: 5 - Previous Ranking: None
He misses the time when he was more active in sports. The
25-year old from Massechusetts wants to get slimmer so that he can feel more
confident about marrying his sweetheart.
The biggest contestant is doing well so far - though he needs to watch his temper. Can he repeat big guy champ Erik's great progress? So far, he's lost 5.23%
Patty
Current Ranking: 6 - Previous Ranking: None
She got scared when her doctor told her about her abnormal lab
results. Now the 34-year old from California is determined to prolong
her life and be there for her kids.
She seems dedicated and motivated, and she has a lovely smile and personality. She's now lost 4.64%
Bryan
Current Ranking: 7 - Previous Ranking: None
He's a popular high school music teacher. This 28-year old
from Georgia made it to the Los Angeles semi-finals of American Idol and
now wants to be the winner of this contest.
This friendly and outgoing guy gave the contest his best shot and so far he's done well by losing 4.33%
Ryan
Current Ranking: 8 - Previous Ranking: None
He's an attorney who's always been an overacheiver. The 29-year
old from New York wants to be the first member of his family to
conquer obesity.
He's so quiet that it surprised me to see that he's an attorney. So far, he's lost 4.01%
Lezlye
Current Ranking: 9 - Previous Ranking: None
She's been through a lot already when she survived Hurricane
Katrina. Now the 34-year old from Louisiana wants to begin going out
again and meeting other people.
I think she was a bit hard on Amber, but she did tell the truth. Her personality seems very blunt but she is dedicated and motivated. So far, she's lost 3.53%
Amy
Current Ranking: 10 - Previous Ranking: None
She's a kindergarten teacher who wants to learn more about being
healthy. The 28-year old from New York wants to impress her husband,
who works as a model.
I remember her words at the first weigh-in: "this is NOT what Amy looks like." She's quiet and sincere and so far she's lost 3.37%
Nicole
Current Ranking: 11 - Previous Ranking: None
Her outgoing personality makes her a natural as a radio DJ.
But this 26-year old from Pennsylvania is now ready to take control of
her health.
I don't remember much about her, but she seems nice so far. So far, she's lost 2.87%

She's a paramedic who sees and feels the effects of being
overweight every day.
Though she was eliminated this week, the 30-year old
from Texas is doing her best to turn her life around. Here's hoping
she does!
The season is off to a good start and I am looking forward to see how the Black Team's arrival impacts on the competition. It's impossible to predict a winner this soon, but Jerry's certainly off to an impressive start.
