The City: Whitney And Her Dysfunctional Friends
Episode 5 Recap by RTVC Staff Writer Natasha Darius

In the opening scene, Jay and Whitney appear to be waiting for Adam and Allie at a restaurant. Sounds like a double date. I didn't know people still did that.
"So tell me about Adam and Allie," said, Whiney. "I went out with them at the Gramercy. They hit it off and how she lives with us, "said Jay. Adam and Allie finally arrive. Kisses and hugs are exchanged. "So Whitney, how do you like New York, " asks Allie of Whitney. "I like it but sometimes I really miss home," said Whitney. Jay had this huge grin on his face with a sense of pride that he had major influence on keeping Whitney in New York. Seems like Adam had that same influence on Allie because Allie is also from California. I think Allie is a model like her boyfriend Adam. The difference between the two, other than the obvious, is that she travels quite a bit. Speaking of which, Allie who's going out of town asks Whitney to keep and eye on Adam while she's gone. Mind you, Allie is making this request right in front of Adam. That's crazy! Hmmm…sounds like a lack of trust.
Our favorite pseudo socialites, Olivia and Nevan, are spending their time at what appears to be a swanky museum in Chelsea. Their topic of discussion…Nevan desperately needs to find a job so his dad won't cut him off. "So what is your dad saying?" said Olivia. "His main concern is that as long as it doesn't involve me boozing at the waterhole 6 days a week," said Nevan. Nevan asks Olivia if he could crash at her place. But she quickly reminds him of how badly he trashed her place after only being there for 6 days. "Give me an alternative Olivia." I got one for ya Nevan…find your own place!
Meanwhile, at Central Park, Whitney tells Erin that she feels so pressured having to keep on an eye on Adam for Allie. What is this? If you are that insecure that you have to have a babysitter for you boyfriend who happens to be a grown ass man…then why are you dating him? RIDICULOUS!!!
At the club, the boys are out and doing there thing. But like any reality show on MTV, somebody is always strategically placed in a club in order for drama to pop off. Samantha, Whitney's friend, and a girl named Cat sees Jay and Adam and decides to make their way over. Cat rolls up on Adam like a cat (pun intended) in heat. Of course Adam entertains her obvious advances and they're already making plans to leave the club. "Let's have some fun!" said Cat.
What did we ever do without texting when it came to spreading the word? So Erin, Whitney and Samantha are having lunch, then Samantha receives a text from somebody named Jenn saying that Cat and Adam made out…uh oh.
Jay and Whitney meet and Whitney tells Jay about the text. "Are you gonna tell Adam?" said Whitney. "Ya damn skippy I'm gonna tell Adam," said Jay. I mean c'mon Whitney. What did you really expect?
Later, Jay tells Adam what is being said about him and he denies it of course. Jay advises that Adam nips this whole thing in the bud by telling Allie about it as soon as she gets back from her trip. In other words…cover your ass.
Adam picks up Allie from the airport and as they're in the car, he's uncomfortably trying to bring up the topic. "So did you talk to Whiney at all?" said Adam. "No." said Allie. He proceeds to tell her that he was talking to some girl about nothing and then one of her friends' texts Samantha saying that he kissed that girl. "Why would she say something like that? Why would she make something up? Who has time to make up stuff and then spread it around?" inquires Allie. Silence. "I need to find out who this is," said Allie. Silence. "Did she make this up?" asked Allie. Silence. "You know you can trust me…right?" said Adam. Silence.
Looks like Nevan wore Olivia down. He now resides at casa de Olivia. We'll see how long that lasts.
Whitney, Erin, and Samantha wait for Allie to join them for lunch. "She's gonna ask me so many questions. Grilling me," said Whitney. "Shouldn't she be grilling her boyfriend?" said Samantha. My thoughts exactly Sam. I have a feeling Sam will be my favorite on this show. Allie shows up and talks to the girls about the incident. "Adam and I are full on. I can't believe this is happening. I'm glad I have you guys to tell me what's going on," said Allie. "We're here for you no matter what," said Whitney.
After the girls leave, Allie calls Adam to meet her at the Cafeteria. While Allie is waiting with a look of disgust, Adam is taking his sweet time down the street. "What are you doing hanging out with girls 'til eight in the morning?" asked Allie. "No. That's not true Allie," said Adam. "Every time I go out of town you always have to be having these wild parties with a bunch of girls!" yelled Allie. "Sorry honey," said Adam. "You always put yourself in these positions. It's stupid Adam!" said Allie. "Sorry honey. Promise I won't do it again," said Adam. Well, sounds this is a reoccurring incident between these two, which explains the constant look of disgust that Allie seems to have on her face when she's with Adam. Another obviously dysfunctional relationship on reality TV that can easily be resolved by a simple break up. Oh boy!
