Dancing With The Stars: Foreplay, Tongue And Sensible Shoes
Episode 4 Recap by Jenny Lane
September 30, 2008
Last week on Dancing with the Stars, the 13 couples were faced with the challenge of performing two new dances. The first night was filled with Cha Chas and Foxtrots. Brooke and Derek, Toni and Alec, and Lance and Lacey were the top three couples in the judges’ eyes. In the bottom were Susan and Tony, Rocco and Karina, and Jeffrey and Edyta.

On the second night, the couple was sent home who had the lowest combined score when both the judges’ and audience votes were counted. The audience agreed with the judges, and Jeffrey and Edyta were sent home.

The remaining 12 couples performed their second dance of the week, either the Quickstep or the Mambo. Brooke and Derek, and Toni and Alec found themselves in the top again, at least in the eyes of the judges. Susan and Tony, who were in the bottom on night one, did much better on the second night. The bottom couples were Ted and Inna, Kim and Mark, and Cloris and Corky.

On the third night, one more couple was eliminated. This time, the couple with the lowest combined score was Ted and Inna.

This week, we’re down to two nights rather than three. Tonight, the 11 remaining couples will dance either the Rumba or the Paso Doble. Len tells us that learning tonight’s dance in four days is tougher than when they had to learn two dances for last week’s premiere.

Our first couple is Toni and Alec. Toni had made Alec promise to do something outside of his comfort zone if they made it past the first week. Since they survived the first week, Toni dragged poor Alec to a karaoke bar. What’s worse than karaoke? Karaoke on national TV of course!

Alec is dressed for the Rumba wearing what can only be described as women’s pajamas. His cream colored pants are super high waisted, loose fitting, and wide legged. His peach shirt is unbuttoned down to his waist.

Toni is also wearing what looks like women’s pajamas. It’s a long dress that is the same color as Alec’s pants. From the back, it looks like a long, flowing, backless dress. Then when Toni turns around, it suddenly looks like a robe that is fastened only at the very top. Since the front is open, it reveals her beige and sequined bra and panty set. Toni is also wearing lots of jewelry, mainly in the form of bracelets. Her hair is long and completely straight.

The Rumba is basically a foreplay dance, and that’s what this one looks like. It reminds me of a scene in a movie right before a couple has sex. There is a lot of fingers running down faces and close embraces. I guess I’m not exactly sure what a Rumba is supposed to contain in the way of formal dancing, so I don’t know it was successful or not.

Len says he was surprised at how good it was. He says Toni and Alec had great chemistry, but he would have liked to have seen more basic dance holds. Bruno says they “captured the sensuality and vulnerability of a mistress, but not too much.” Carrie Ann tells Toni that she moves like she sings, with passion and grandness. She scolds Alec for the two lifts, because Toni’s feet came off the ground and they’re not supposed to (Carrie Ann is a stickler for the lifts).

Toni and Alec get a.....
