Dancing With The Stars: Socialites With Sex Tapes Can't Win
Episode 5 Recap by Jenny Lane
October 1, 2008
Last week on Dancing with the Stars, the 13 couples danced two dances. After the first night of dancing, Jeffrey and Edyta became the first couple to be sent home. The remaining couples performed their second dance, and then one more couple was eliminated. This time, the couple with the lowest combined score was Ted and Inna, so they were the second couple to go home.
This week, the 11 remaining couples danced the Rumba or the Paso Doble. Here’s how the judges saw the dances:
Warren and Kym – Paso Doble - 24
Brooke and Derek – Paso Doble – 24
Toni and Alec – Rumba – 23
Misty and Maks – Paso Doble - 21
Susan and Tony – Rumba – 21
Cody and Julianne – Rumba – 21
Lance and Lacey – Paso Doble – 20
Maurice and Cheryl – Rumba – 19
Kim and Mark – Rumba - 17
Rocco and Karina – Rumba – 16
Cloris and Corky – Paso Doble – 15
Tonight, Tom open the results show with introductions. Samantha is showing an unusual amount of cleavage tonight. She’s got on a metallic tan long strapless dress. The top starts right under her armpits, and then dips down in a u-shape so that her goods are on display. It also shows off a tan line, which runs across her chest but much higher up than her dress. I think Samantha has lost all of her baby weight, because underneath her heavy diamond necklace, her collarbone is sticking way out.
After the obligatory and lengthy look back on last night’s performances, Len tells us that tonight’s encore performance will be Warren and Kim’s Rumba. He says all three judges chose it for its “drama, artistry and entertainment.” In case you forgot which one that was, Maurice and Cheryl are dressed like the S&M bullfighters in the Matrix.
Next, we look at the leader board. Here’s how the couples weighed in on their scores:
Cloris and Corky – Corky says the judges wanted Cloris to be funny, but this dance isn’t funny, it’s powerful.
Rocco and Karina – Rocco says the judges’ opinions had no impact on the fun that he had.
Mark and Kim – Mark says he thought they might get a higher score, and Kim says she did too.
Maurice and Cheryl – Maurice says they’ll be back next week to improve on their score.
Lance and Lacey – On the judges saying that Lance was too hip hop, Lacey says “let them disagree with you, we’ll see what America has to say.
Cody and Julianne – Cody gets his ‘romantic’ look (which looks more constipated than romantic) and says his goal is to sweep America off their feet.
Toni and Alec – Toni is excited about their score of 23, and they do a little celebration dance.
Warren and Kym – Warren says he’s “number 99 in your program and number one in your heart.”
Oddly, we don’t get any comments from Misty and Maks, Susan and Tony, or Brooke and Derek.
Next, Tom reminds us.....
