Hell's Kitchen - Short Shorts, Burnt Chicken And More Crying
Recap by Brian Sikorsky
June 7, 2007

With one hour to go before the doors of Hell's Kitchen open for dinner, Chef Ramsay and Jean Philipe talk with Aaron about his role in the evening's service. As they are talking to Aaron, he turns ghost white and stares off into space. Gordon asks him if he's okay but Aaron doesn't respond. Jean Philipe says he doesn't think he's there. Aaron's stiff body goes limp and he kind of falls to his seat. A moment later he comes to and tells Gordon and Jean Philipe that he passed out. Chef Ramsay asks him if he's acting and tells him to get it together.

Chef Ramsay tells Jean Philipe to open the doors to Hell's Kitchen. As the guests start to arrive, Aaron is in the dining room mingling and introducing himself. Gordon finds out about his antics and tells Jean Philipe to have him stop.

As the orders start coming into the kitchen, the blue team doesn't start off very well as Eddie starts messing up the spaghetti appetizer. He's being surrounded by the other guys on the team and getting confused. Gordon gets wind of the issue and tells everyone to leave him alone.

On the red side, Bonnie misheard a call from Chef Ramsay and has put the team behind. Gordon asks her is she's a "dumb blonde". She keeps telling herself "I'm alright" to get focused.

Back on the blue side, Vinnie is overcooking the sole and trying to get it by.

Jen is playing leader and trying to motivate the women of the red team.

The first sole goes out to the guests for Aaron to de-bone. Fifteen sweaty minutes later, the fish is cold but de-boned.

Eddie is still having trouble on the blue team when he over peppers his risotto. Brad is moved to the app station to try to get the risotto out. But later has the same outcome as Eddie.

On the red side, Joanna has forgotten the lettuce for a dish and begins to stress. Her setback is starting to hurt the red team that has gotten 23 out of 50 orders out of the kitchen. A huge victory compared to the blue kitchen's sad 9 orders.

The blue teams woes continue when Josh overcooks a number of Wellingtons and undercooks the others. The guests are starting to complain about the bones in their de-boned Dover sole's. Aaron gets an earful from Chef Ramsay and feels like he's not good enough to work in a restaurant of this caliber.

The red team has an amazing 3 tables left and is on the verge of finishing their service which has never been done this early in any of the previous seasons of "Hell's Kitchen". Jen keeps trying to motivate the team to reach the finish line.

Josh overcooks some chicken and tells Chef Ramsay that it's not overcooked. When Gordon approaches the station and inspects the offending chicken. When Gordon realizes that he was right and the chicken was indeed dry, as he had thought, he slammed his fish on the plate, which sent the chicken flying. For a moment it looks like Josh is about to loose his cool and lunge at Chef Ramsay but doesn't. Gordon just collects the blue team and tells them to get out of the kitchen and that the ladies will finish their service. Julia seemed to roll her eyes at the thought of having to cook more but the team sees it as a compliment and pushes forward. The women of the red team banded together and finished both services.

After the restaurant is closed, Chef Ramsay calls the teams in for a talk. He flogs Aaron for acting like the President of the United States when he was out shaking hands. He flogs Vinnie for trying to cover his mistakes and Eddie for his terrible cooking. He says that Rock is the "least bad of the group" and asks him to select two for elimination.

Back in the dorms, Eddie pleads his case to stay even though he says that he didn't perform well. Josh keeps telling Rock that he doesn't want to go home but when faced with Chef Ramsay, Rock chooses Josh and Eddie for his nominees.

Rock said that Eddie didn't come out of his shell when he was needed and Josh was all over the place.

Gordon seems a bit surprised about the nomination of Josh and selects Eddie for elimination. Aaron is surprised by his dodging of the bullet and Josh needs to watch his butt.
