Hell's Kitchen - Rancid Food, Rancid Attitudes, Call The Medic!
Episode 3 Recap by Brian Sikorsky
June 21, 2007

This week on "Hell's Kitchen", bugles blew just like Chef Ramsays' temper. When we rejoin the show this week we find Josh confronting Rock about being selected for elimination. Rock tells him he was selected because he was trying to lead and it was obvious that Josh couldn't lead and perform in him station at the same time.

At 6 A.M. the next morning, the chefs are awoken to the sounds of a true military reveille. They quickly scramble to get dressed in their uniforms while Bonnie scurries out of the shower wrapped in a towel. Aaron starts to complain (again) about cramping. Rock and Brad both help get Aaron dressed. "You don't leave a man behind", Rock exclaims.

In the restaurant, Chef Ramsay continues to recap the previous evening's dinner service and informs them that for the first time Hell's Kitchen will be open for breakfast. With that cue, the restaurant fills with service men and women for the U.S. Army and Navy. Julia begins to cry when she thinks of the work that the young men and women in front of her do and was honored to cook for them. Joanna was happy for a different reason. "I love a man in uniform", she said. The red team is cooking for the Army while the blue team is cooking for the Navy. Sous Chef MaryAnn tells Julia that she will be leading the red kitchen for this service. In the blue kitchen, Sous Chef Scott asks who will be running the critical omelet station and when Aaron volunteers you can hear the concern in Scotts' voice. Naturally when they start cooking, Aaron starts burning the omelets and they end up in the trash. The red team is getting food out of their kitchen thanks to Julia's experience at the Waffle House but in the dining room the Navy is getting restless. "If I knew I would have gotten breakfast sooner I would have joined the Army", says one naval officer. The blue team's struggles continue and Chef Ramsay tells Aaron to switch off of his station.

The red team starts to run into trouble as Joanna serves raw potatoes and runs out of backup product. Gordon gets frustrated with her and tells her to "Shut It!" The blue team is still continuing to struggle and serves cold food. One of the men on the blue team asks Aaron what he is doing and he replies "Nothing."

The red team completes their breakfast service and Chef Ramsay sends Julia over to the blue side to help them finish. Julia gets the team moving and the food to the hungry guests. Chef Ramsay praises her work as outstanding. The red team is the winner and is given a helicopter ride with the military while the blue team has military style K.P. duty. They will have to peel thousands of pounds of potatoes and onions. While the men are carrying the onions and potatoes from the back of a military truck into the kitchen, the women of the red team are leaving for their reward. Sous Chef Scott tells the guys to carry the sacks on their shoulders "like men not girls." While working on their duties in the kitchen, the blue team says they need every man to do their part. Unfortunately, Aaron isn't doing well and he passes out again and they call for a medic.

At this point a tornado started moving in the Central Florida area (again) and the news department broke in with some information and I missed a few minutes. From what I gathered, Aaron went to the hospital and the girls of the red team really enjoyed their reward. One of them was probably really scared but in the end they really enjoyed themselves.

When I rejoined the show, the blue team was sitting around the dorm trying to decide on who should be their leader. Each man voted for himself, but to spite Rock, Josh changed his vote for Brad. So with an outstanding two votes, Brad was named the team leader.

The next day in the kitchen.....
