Hell's Kitchen - Pinching Lobsters And Raging Tempers
Episode 6 Recap by Brian Sikorsky
July 10, 2007
Meanwhile, at the magazine shoot, the ladies are going to makeup and wardrobe while sipping on champagne and munching on a spread of food. As they are preparing to pose with Chef Ramsay, Rock comes in to the room. Gordon is glad to see him. He tells Rock that there is a bag of garbage that needs to be recycled. Chef Ramsay pulls the bag out of the can and hands it to Rock. With a look of shock on his face he grabs the bag. Gordon asks Rock if he would like to eat something. Rock tells him that he's fine and "[He's] full of S**t." This doesn't sit well with rock who, returns to the garbage at Hell's Kitchen even angrier than when he left.
After finishing the work in with the recycling, Rock moves aside and quiets down before heading to the kitchen to prep for dinner. In the kitchen, the blue team is going into dinner confident being up one woman while the red team is also going into dinner confident being down one woman.
With 5 minutes to go before the doors open, Chef Ramsay tells the chefs that he has chosen Bonnies' lobster salad to be the special of the evening and that every time a guest orders a lobster from either kitchen, a member of the blue team will have to go get it. Josh elected to be the "lobster bitch" for the evening so he would have to stop cooking and run through the dining room to fetch a lobster from the tank whenever there was an order. Needless to say, the blue team starts very slow while in the red kitchen; Julia is receiving praise for her scallops from Chef Ramsay.
Brad in the red kitchen is getting confused and cooking things that Gordon hasn't called for. He is also attempting to cook spaghetti in a pot of water that isn't boiling. The guests dining from the red kitchen are eating while the blue team guests are waiting and waiting. Chef Ramsay continues to praise the red team until Bonnie sets fire to her pan and flips out a bit. Oye. Josh is also having trouble on the blue side when he screws up the mashed potatoes. After cruising for a while the red team starts having trouble when Julia starts tripping up a bit. Back in the blue kitchen, Melissa doesn't realize her mungfish is overcooked and sends it to the pass. Gordon sees red and moves Rock to the station and kicks Melissa to garnish. The blue team's problems don't end when an entire six-top's entrees are returned to the kitchen. Chef Ramsay calls for the restaurant to be shut down and quickly announces that the blue team lost. He tells Josh that he has yet to have a good service and Brad's service was his worst yet. He tells each of them to select two for nomination.
Back in the dorms the blue team is trying to decide if they should nominate someone based off of entire performance since day one (Melissa and Josh) or just for the evening (Melissa and Brad). When back in the kitchen Gordon doesn't even listen to the nominations and asks Melissa to step forward. When she does, he tells her to hand over her coat and leave. When she leaves he says he's not done and asks for Brad and Josh to step forward. Hot Damn! He's gone mad! He's getting rid of two tonight to make up for last week where he didn't send anyone. Josh says he should stay because he has improved each service and Brad says he should because he his here to win and he made mistakes. Chef Ramsay quickly blasts him for making "pathetic excuses" and decides to have both of them step back in line and spare them for another week.
