Hell's Kitchen: Ranking The Top 3
By Brian Sikorski
July 26, 2007
This week on "Hell's Kitchen" Chef Ramsay tells the chegs that he is combining the teams into one. They are told that they will be cooking for a very trendsetting group that has its pulse on culture, music and pretty much everything else. Everyone thinks they are cooking for a celebrity or some hot shot Hollywood type but no, it was high school kids.
The chefs were blindfolded and taken to an area high school where they were told that they had one hour to prep a dish to serve to the students. The students would then vote for which one they liked the most and that chef would win a trip to Las Vegas with Chef Ramsay. Rock started making a Kobe Meat Loaf on Ciabatta Bread. Josh made Baked Salmon with Pineapple Salsa. Julia made Grilled Chicken and Cheese Sandwich with Onion Rings. Bonnie made breaded and fried Goat Cheese on a bead of greens. Jen made Baked Chicken Fettuccine with a Lemon Chive Butter Sauce. The majority (over 51%) chose Julia's dish as their favorite. Julia was jumping up and down with excitement, she was told to select one chef to join her on the trip. After thinking for a brief moment, she chose Jen to join her. Jen and Julia are driven to the airfield where they are surprised with a trip on a private jet. Back in Hell's Kitchen, Jean Philipe tells the remaining chefs that they will be vacuuming, steaming and ironing the entire restaurant and its linens. Jen and Julia are taken to the Green Valley Resort where they check out their and then they are then taken to the Red Rock Resort and meet up with last seasons winner Heather, who gives them some tips.
Back in the kitchen, Josh is on apps and Julia is on the vegetable/garnish station for the first time. To "help" Josh has started to sandbag risottos. Chef Ramsay notices the extra 4 risottos and questions Josh. Rock over cooks a scallop order while Josh is caught again sandbagging. Julia begins to struggle while Bonnie receives some praise. After a few moments, Chef Ramsay notices that Josh has at least four orders of pasta cooking when he should only be making one. Gordon looses it. Then a guest complains about their risotto. Needless to say the dish is return and Chef Ramsay tells Josh to GIVE UP HIS JACKET AND GET OUT. With Josh gone, the four remaining chefs were left to finish the dinner service. There is a delay from the garnish station and Julia starts to cry. Then Jen tells Rock she will be ready in 45 seconds and to wait. A few moments later Chef Ramsay calls for the scallops and decides to listen to his chef instead of waiting for Jen, which ticks her off a bit. Jen and Rock spend the rest of the dinner service picking at each other and arguing. After dinner service, Chef Ramsay praises Bonnie for having her best service yet and informs her to select two for an elimination nomination. Back in front of Chef Ramsay, she quickly names Rock as her first choice. Second is Julia. After hearing the pleading of the two nominees, Gordon says he has a very tough decision. He decides that the person leaving Hell's Kitchen would be Julia. He then tells her that he wants to personally pay to have her attend culinary school and he also invites her back to Hell's Kitchen to win.
Rock
Current Ranking: 1 - Previous Ranking: 1
You attitude sucked the big one and I hope you learn from what happened tonight. If you can't keep your attitude and your pride in check then Jen is going to take this from you.
Jen
Current Ranking: 2 - Previous Ranking: 2
You seem to antagonize rough situations. I've seen this behavior from you a few times in the past but tonight it came to a head. Take the chip off your shoulder and cook, lead and win.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bonnie
Current Ranking: 4 - Previous Ranking: 5
I can't believe you are in the top three. This has got to be some sort of miracle. If you take the win, I don't know what I'm going to say or do.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Julia
Elinated: Episode 8
You left with your head up high, even though it was down and crying. You should be damn proud of what you accomplished. Chef Ramsay even promised to send you to culinary school and challenged you to come back to Hell's Kitchen and win. Take him up on the offer girl!
Josh
Elinated: Episode 8
Your elimination was so satisfying to me. You have just coasted your way through this competition and haven't contributed much. I am glad you're gone but mad it took this long.
Brad
Elinated: Episode 7
The blue team faults were all you buddy. It was your menu and your show so when the ship sinks, the captain goes down with it. Thems is the breaks.
Melissa
Elinated: Episode 6
You tried to bite off more than you can chew. You tried to take a leadership role and the first rule of being a leader is to listen and respect your team because they will listen and respect you in return.
Vinnie
Elinated: Episode 4
Vinnie you struggled on the meat station. Yes it is probably the most difficult station but if you were crashing you should have told someone or at least asked to switch.
Joanna
Eliminated In Episode 3
Joanna, I though you would have done better. Oh well. Rancid crab and a rancid attitude. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Aaron
Eliminated Due To Health In Episode 3
Aaron get well buddy. I'm not even gonna say anything. Just be glad you lasted as long as you did.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Eddie
Eliminated In Episode 2
I've got to say I'm surprised that you got the boot so soon. If Rock would have put you against Aaron like he should have then I think you would be in the kitchen for at least one more service. Oh well.
Tiffany
Eliminated In Episode 1
We hardly knew ye but in that time we did know you, you were bossy and annoying.
