Hell's Kitchen: Sinking Faster Than The Titanic
Rankings by RTVC Staff Writer Brian Sikorski
As of April 21, 2009
This week on a heart attack inducing episode of Hell's Kitchen, the restaurant is shut down. Ramsay tells the chefs that he's closing down Hell's Kitchen and that all of them are leaving. After a dramatic pause, he tells them that he is sending all of them to the Bogota resort in Atlantic City.

Andrea is jumping around in excitement while Robert looks like he about to pass out from the shock. The next morning, the chefs board the Borgota private jet for the flight to Atlantic City.

In the lobby the chefs are met with the Director of Marketing and some of the resorts pretty girls who invite them to relax.

The next morning they are taken on a tour and are shown that if they win they will be working in a space next to Bobby Flay and Wolfgang Puck.

When taken to the space, each of the chefs are planning out the blank space in their head and imagining their restaurants. The next evening the chefs dine with the VP of Food and Beverage as well as the Borgota Executive Chef. As the chefs are meeting, Robert excuses himself and seeks medical attention with complaints of chest pains. He is taken to the hospital and is unsure if he had a heart attack or not. The remaining four return to Hell's Kitchen without Robert and after a couple of days Gordon brings all the chefs back and brings Robert back into the restaurant where Robert says he has symptoms of heart disease and will not be returning to the kitchen so he can concentrate on his health.

Now being down to the final four, each of the chefs need to create a signature dish and the winner is safe from elimination. Ben says his dish will be better than anything that is currently being served at Bogata, which makes me hate that cocky bastard even more. Danny's dish is first with "Pan seared sea scallops with a citrus basil champagne sauce with crystallized ginger".

Gordon says it may not be the best presentation but it delivered on flavor. Andreas, "Green tea crusted tuna with black sesame rice cake with pear kim chi" was praised being well balanced. Paula served a "Smoked salmon ceviche" which she says is overcooked. Gordon says its not overcooked and that is seasoned perfectly and was delicious. Last was Ben with his "Pan roasted tiger prawns served over mango scented turnips and basil crushed Yukon gold potatoes". Gordon says the dish is pretty but he left the tail of a prawn on the plate but not the prawn because he didn't want to put too much on the plate.

After telling Ben he is not the winner and Andrea is the winner and was safe. Back in the dorms, Ben is sweating that he could be going home since Andrea has immunity. The next day it's business as usual and the chefs get to work. Danny is starting to talk more and direct the team. The kitchen seems to be starting well until Andrea starts struggling with her station. Ben is starting to struggle on the garnish station and served Gordon cold carrot puree and starts to shut down. Paula is being yelled at for slowing down to compensate for Andrea's timing. Ramsay continues to ask Ben what's going on and he's not responding. Ben is crashing hard and Gordon kicks him out.

After getting some water on his face, her returns and tries to bounce back. Another one of Andrea's dishes is returned and Gordon is getting more and more aggravated. Gordon asks Danny to help out Andrea because she is sinking faster than the Titanic. Andrea, Gordon and the rest of the chefs believe that Andrea is luck as hell to have that immunity because she would have been sent home in the middle of service if she hadn't.

Gordon says that they need to return to the dorms and nominate two for elimination. The first nominee is Ben and the second is Paula over her lack of communication. Her lack of communication?!?!?! Ben starts to say why he should stay and gets cut off. He asks Paula and after one sentence she is sent back to the line and Andrea is told to take a step forward. Andrea is blasted for not handling his station. She is also blamed for Ben's failure because she "sunk him". He tells Andrea that she is still safe because he is a man of his word.

Gordon says that he needs to wake up with a clear conscience. He says that Ben is safe and has one more chance because it should have been Andrea going home.
Paula
Current Ranking: 1         Previous Ranking: 1
She's got it. I'll be surprised if she doesn't take it.

Danny
Current Ranking: 2         Previous Ranking: 2
He needs to work on his presentation if there is one more individual challenge to show that he can be a fine dining chefs in Borgota resort. He has the flavor but needs the eye appeal.

Ben
Current Ranking: 3         Previous Ranking: 4
He is still all talk and no substance. I don't buy that Andrea buried him. It played a roll, but it is not to blame for him and his ego.

Andrea
Current Ranking: 4         Previous Ranking: 5
Still don't know why she is there. She is damn lucky to have had immunity this week.

Robert
Current Ranking: 5         Previous Ranking: 3
It's a shame he had to go for medical reasons. This luffa-using real man will be missed.

Giovanni
Current Ranking: Eliminated
Seemed to be having a really bad day. I really expected Giovanni to go much further than he had.

Carol
Current Ranking: Eliminated
As expected, she was kicked to the curb for being all talk.

Alicia
Current Ranking: Eliminated
I was a bit surprised by this. I do agree that her motivation doesn't show and it she is perceived to be uncaring.

Lacey
Current Ranking: Eliminated (Finally)
I have nothing to say except. Finally.

J
Eliminated
He was kicked out DURING SERVICE! That's something special.

Coi
Eliminated
No real sense of urgency was a major issue for Coi. She forgot to put food on and then would try to cut corners to get by easier. First the pasta and then the burgers.

Colleen
Eliminated
After 5 episodes, she still hadn't shown her skills and ability to handle it.

Seth
Current Ranking: Eliminated
Saw this one coming. Slow, nasty and didn't really have a grip on things.

Charlie
Current Ranking: Eliminated
Struggling on the appetizer station. Struggling in the front of house. Spilling bacon all over a table and its diners. Worst waiter. Nominated to go. He deserved it.

Ji
Current Ranking: Eliminated due to injury.
Injured, she still worked hard and didn’t give up. If it wasn’t for the injury, I think she would still be at the top.

Wil
Current Ranking: Eliminated
He couldn’t cut it on the garnish station and no matter how much his teammates helped, he still didn’t make it.
