Real Housewives NYC: “Game - Set - Feud”
Recap by RTVC Staff Writer Teri C.
April 9, 2009
This week on The Real Housewives of New York it’s being called, “Game, set, Feud.” One can only hope for more of the feud part than the game/set part. We first start off with an update to Jill’s charity. I guess the last meeting didn’t set too well with Kelly so she texted Jill and told her that she would love to help but doesn’t need the recognition or her name on anything. That’s all she was trying to say. Jill realizes that Kelly could bring in some good stuff so Jill is appreciative. One thing Kelly donates is a portrait setting with her ex-husband. I guess that goes for $25,000 but the organizer just calls it, priceless.

Next we have Ramona joining us. Jill hasn’t seen her since last week’s episode where she [Jill] got into it with Mario about who is going to play whom in tennis. Ramona tells what she is bringing to the table and then lets out that she also has a skin care line and gives some for free to the organizer. Ramona casually asks Jill if they are still on for Tennis and Jill acts like it’s the most known thing to all New Yorkers. The date is set and then Jill says that Bethenny wants to come watch that night but she is going to the Madonna concert. And give some props to Jill for adding in, “Yeah...she’s going to see Kelly.” LOLOLOL. Good one, Jill!

Alex comes to meet Bethenny at Japonais. B has asked A to help her with a logo for the Skinny Girl Margarita. So they banter back and forth and then Bethenny realizes that she feels a little guilty for all the bad things she has said about Simex. It really bothers her especially because Alex is so willing to help her out.

Checking in with the Countess she is found going in to the Brooklyn Boys and Girls club to help out a group called Smart Girls. These are a group of girls who want to be positive role models to younger girls. Give the next generation something to aspire to be. They all sat down and wrote down five things they liked about themselves. LuAnn then changes the whole conversation around her growing up a Native American but then meeting the Count and marrying him and thus becoming a Countess.

I think I heard crickets chirping in the background as they just stared at her self-centeredness. Now, get this. LuAnn asks the girls what they want to be when they grow up. One little girl raises her hand and says she wants to be a model. She stands up to reveal she is a very overweight child. So LuAnn asks how old she is and the girl tells her ten so LuAnn says with a little, pffffttt, that she has plenty of time to grow. Then she adds in what a beautiful face the little girl has. The girl then smiles widely. LuAnn starts to speak but takes a sip of her beverage instead. But it was like she just couldn’t hold it in. She told the girl SO nonchalantly, “And you can lose weight, that’s the easy part.” The little girl just put her hand on her cheek and definitely had that look of disappointment take over that smile. Great role model LuAnn. Who tells a ten-year old that?

Jill’s new house is finally revealed room by room. It looks fabulous. Jill is pleased. Brad and Jill start arguing about the furniture and as usual it goes nowhere.

Back with Bethenny and we find that she is also writing a book. Find your Inner Skinny Girl:How to free yourself from a lifetime of dieting. There could some other words in there but it was just too many to remember. Then she stumbles upon Simex’s website and starts to read and she’s barely a line in and starts ripping them apart. Go back three paragraphs. Wasn’t B just feeling awful about making fun of them? Obviously guilt doesn’t bother her as much as it should. So B comes over to Jill’s house to see the renovation.

B is dying over what the apartment looks like. She thinks it resembles what one might see if one should take a hit of acid. I tend to concur. Then Jill’s ace-in-the-hole for the tennis match calls and tells her he can’t make it. B tells her not to worry because she has the perfect partner in mind. SIMON!! B makes it very apparent that Ramona hates Simon and if Jill uses him as her mate then Ramona will just crumble. B figures that if it’s going to happen, might as well have a good time with it. They call Simon and of course he goes right along with it.

Kelly takes us along on a date.....
