Stimpy’s Thoughts
Okay, so Stephenie ended up on the Heroes tribe. It’s obviously ‘Palau Stephenie’ we’re talking about here. Since ‘Guatemala Stephenie’ was such a raving bitch.

I kid, I kid.

Or do I?

To a certain extent no, but to a certain extent yes.

Let’s face it, we all fell in love with the plucky Stephenie from the utterly useless Ulong tribe in Palau. The way she ended up all alone and outlasted eight others on her tribe, before making the merge and getting past the first two boots afterwards.

Then came Guatemala, and this Stephenie was not only ‘listen to me because I know everything’, but she had SUCH a sense of entitlement, and then began to screw people over to get to the end without even thinking for a second how she would get their votes when she got to the end.

So, let’s address things shall we?

First off, if you only remember Palau, rent it or buy it or whatever, and watch it again.

You’ll see some remarkable similarities between that Stephenie and the one who showed up in Guatemala.

She wasn’t quite as bitchy back then, but there were signs.

There were also signs that she didn’t think quite as smartly as she should have. Let’s face it, Ulong made their biggest mistake when they dumped Jolanda at their first Tribal Council, and Stephenie was on board with that choice.

But, even though she was the plucky underdog, that sense of entitlement did show up as well.

Remember that first, post-merge Immunity Challenge? Stand on a perch. Oh wait, here’s pizza! Boom! Stephenie was outta the challenge.

(The Champ mode ON)

I says pardon?

(The Champ mode OFF)

Let’s see, you’ve just come into the merge down EIGHT TO FUCKING ONE and you decide to bow out for pizza?

But, that was Stephenie. She wanted to eat, so she ate, even though it could have killed her game.

If it hadn’t been for Coby stirring up so much shit that the rest of Koror decided to send him packing, Stephenie’s experience would have ended right there.

And that showed up again in Guatemala, where during the first post-merge Immunity Challenge, Stephenie decided to sit out and eat, rather than participate.

Why? Well, she didn’t need immunity, so why bother?

Let’s go back to Palau. Why the hell was Tom on that perch for so long, and why did Tom win immunity?

Well, first off, yes, it’s a guarantee that you’re safe.

But more important than that, is the same thing I’ve said till I’m blue in the face - or, since I’m typing, till my fingers bleed - it’s not always about you NEEDING immunity.

Even if you don’t need it, if you have it, that means someone else doesn’t.

Another point that parallels this is back in Guatemala, at the auction. Stephenie and all her allies were only too happy to spend their money on food, but when the ‘Immunity Challenge Advantage’ came up, they let Danni - the next boot - buy it.

Danni won the challenge, the Nakum majority had to eat one of their own, and it was all downhill from there.

That’s an awful lot of harkening back for Ms. Lagrossa, but I think it was necessary to prove one thing: she’s got no shot.

That may seem harsh, but I just don’t think Stephenie really understands this game enough to win it all.

Toss in the fact that she says she hasn’t watch for a number of years, and oh my holy god do we have recipe for disaster.

Now, in her video, Stephenie does admit much the same way that Amanda did that she needed to do a better job in front of the jury than she did last time around.

That’s only half the battle though.

Stephenie seems to be of the belief that since this is a group of previous competitors, that there’s no way they won’t understand someone who lied, back-stabbed and deceived their way to the finals.

ATTENTION: Lex, Big Tom and Alicia? Clean-up on aisle seven!

Yeah, Stephenie, they could hold it against you.

And that’s the key that she doesn’t seem to get.

Yes, you can lie, back-stab and deceive your way to the finals, but you need to do it with a certain amount of deftness so that those you seat on the jury are willing to doff their cap to you for your acumen.

Rather than say, taking the walk of shame, and mumbling about what a bitch Stephenie was.

It’s a fine line to straddle, and I dunno if Stephenie has the gumption to pull it off.

Again, she may prove me wrong, but somehow I doubt it.
