The Pizza Nazi says no
one gets any.
Previously on Survivor Samoa, the rain arrived, stayed, and tortured both tribes. Galu’s spirits were still high, except for Shambo. She was sent to visit Foa Foa for a second time, where she continued to bond with the other tribe.
Russell continued to manipulate Foa Foa, and he targeted Liz as the next to go. The plan backfired, due in part to Liz’s strong performance at the immunity challenge. Russell went with the group, and Ashley was the next to be voted out.
Foa Foa is down to five now, while Galu has nine.
We rejoin Foa Foa on day 15, and the rain is still coming down. Everyone is wet, cold and miserable. Mick tells us that he felt a little jealousy when Ashley was sent home, because they’re so cold and uncomfortable. Jaison says he’s tired, hungry, and feels like he’s battling a battle that fate doesn’t want them to win. Russell tells us that he’s having a great time in the rain, and is loving being miserable. As Jaison whines, Russell says “this is really no big deal, in fact, it makes me stronger.”
Over at Galu, Russell is standing on the shore, throwing a fishing line in the water. Cue some weird, spooky music, and then Russell’s eyes kind of blank out for a few seconds. That’s the end of the scene though, so it doesn’t really make any sense to me. I thought maybe he was going to fall asleep, fall over, get washed into the ocean, and get eaten by sharks…oh well.
The rest of Galu is huddling underneath a tree, trying to get some shelter from the rain. John tells us that their discomfort could have been avoided if Russell would have just chosen the tarp over the blankets when he had the chance. Russell is away from the rest of the tribe, tending the fire. Brett says it’s great to see Russell working, but maybe he took the work too far and did more than was necessary. Russell tells us that he’s working hard to hopefully “buy stock low, and hopefully sell high later.”
I’m sitting here and scratching my head, wondering why nobody took the time to Google “build fire in shelter” before going on Survivor. It seems to me that if someone knew how to do it, they’d be the hero of the week, and everyone would be a lot happier.
At Foa Foa, everyone but Mick is sitting and suffering in the shelter. Mick has taken shelter under a tree, where he has found a cute, chair shaped nook to sit in. Russell calls the rest of his tribe worthless, and says they’re just a bunch of lazy babies.
At Galu, Erik has decided that he is responsible for the fact that the rain has finally stopped. He says he kind of gave up to the Gods, and told them that they give in, they give up. Since the rain stopped about 12 hours after Erik’s plea to the powers that be, he is now taking credit for the sunshine.
It’s challenge time, and it’s set up in a clearing in the jungle. There are two big table mazes set up, and we also see two giant hamster type balls. One person from each tribe will get inside the hamster ball. That person will verbally guide two blindfolded tribemates, who will push the ball through a long course and up to the table maze. The person inside the sphere will then guide the rest of the blindfolded tribemates, who will navigate the ball through the maze. The first tribe to complete the maze wins a pizza party.
This challenge has a twist. Win or lose.....
