This week on ‘Survivor Samoa’, Jaison became more worn down by the game, while Russell H. became irritated at Jaison’s lack of enthusiasm for being there, causing him to bail on his alliance with Jaison and turn to Natalie as his final two partner.
An unsupervised three-on-three Reward Challenge extended Galu’s winning streak, with Dave bringing home the chickens for their tribe.
Shambo was put in charge of the chickens, but further frustrated her tribe when she let one escape.
Knowing she had the hidden Idol clue, Erik got the clues from Shambo, managing to use them to find the hidden Idol at the Galu camp.
He got the information by promising to use it to save Shambo, but neglected to tell her that he had found the Idol.
At the Immunity Challenge, Monica’s poor performance led to her tribe’s first loss, as Foa Foa finally managed to win an Immunity Challenge.
Back at camp, Russell S. targeted Monica, citing that her poor performance in the challenge led to their loss.
However, the others rallied around Monica, and wanted to boot Yasmin instead due to her laziness around camp.
At Tribal Council, despite leader Russell’s desires, the tribe saved Monica, and Yasmin was booted from the game.

Erik
Current Ranking: 1         Previous Ranking: 4
Erik moves into the top spot this week. The way he managed to work Shambo for the clues and find the hidden Idol was extremely smart and great game play. With moves like that and the hidden Idol in tow, Erik should be around for a long while.
|
Russell H.
Current Ranking: 2         Previous Ranking: 2
Russell remains in second place this week. No matter what you think of him, he is playing the game better than most of the others so far this season. We all know that Russell will eventually suffer a huge downfall, but probably not any time soon.
|
Mick
Current Ranking: 3         Previous Ranking: 3
Mick retains his ranking this week. Mick is a strong asset to his tribe, and is in a very safe position right now.
|
Natalie
Current Ranking: 4         Previous Ranking: 13
Natalie leaps a massive ten spots to fourth place this week. With Russell’s irritation with Jaison, he has solidified his alliance with Natalie, and her being in an alliance with one of the strongest players right now benefits her greatly. Natalie is in a great position at the moment.
|
Russell S.
Current Ranking: 5         Previous Ranking: 1
Russell tumbles from the top spot to fifth place this week. Russell thinks he is running his tribe, and while I give him credit for leading his tribe to so many victories, his ego was a little out of control this week. He thought he would get his way, but the others showed him by all voting for Monica to stay. Obviously Russell isn’t as in control as he thought, but I don’t think he is in danger right now.
|
Jaison
Current Ranking: 6         Previous Ranking: 5
Jaison drops one spot to sixth place this week. He is obviously a little burned out on the game right now, and sometimes, players can’t recover from that. If his lack of desire shows for too long, despite his strength, Jaison could go home. However, I think he should be OK for now.
|
Dave
Current Ranking: 7         Previous Ranking: 10
Dave moves up three spots to seventh place this week. Dave single-handedly won the Reward Challenge for Galu this week, and is obviously a great asset to the tribe.
|
Brett
Current Ranking: 8         Previous Ranking: 7
Brett ranks in eighth place this week. We saw a little more of Brett this week, and he performed decently in the challenge. Brett should be safe for a while.
|
John
Current Ranking: 9         Previous Ranking: 8
John lands in ninth place this week. John performs well enough for his tribe, but he inserts himself into situations at bad times, like when he came up and tried to get the information from Shambo about the hidden Idol while Erik was already trying. Things like that could cause people to become annoyed with John too quickly.
|
Laura
Current Ranking: 10         Previous Ranking: 11
Laura moves up one spot this week. I think she is one of the strongest girls on Galu, and I don’t think she is in any danger at the moment.
|
Kelly
Current Ranking: 11         Previous Ranking: 9
Kelly continues to lay low, but we have seen her perform well in the challenges, and she seems to be in a decent position for the time being.
|
Ashley
Current Ranking: 12         Previous Ranking: 16
Ashley moves up four spots this week. She is by no means in a great position, but things seemed to have calmed down at the moment for her, and it appears that Russell is going to set his sights on Liz instead. The bottom could still fall out for Ashley, though.
|
Shambo
Current Ranking: 13         Previous Ranking: 15
Shambo moves up two spots this week, only due to problems of other players. Shambo is not playing the game well. She wasn’t careful enough with the chickens, which only made her tribe more irritated with her when the one escaped. She also gave up her valuable clue information to the Idol, and now Erik has it. I don’t see Shambo making the merge; however, as she said, she would probably be in a decent position if she does make the merge.
|
Monica
Current Ranking: 14         Previous Ranking: 12
Monica falls two spots this week, and into last place for her tribe. Monica hasn’t been performing well in the challenges, and it nearly cost her this week. However, she has clearly done well bonding with her tribe, which saved her at Tribal Council. Nevertheless, if she doesn’t pick it up in the challenges, she will probably be sacrificed soon.
|
Liz
Current Ranking: 15         Previous Ranking: 6
Liz falls into last place this week. I think Liz is playing well. However, on next week’s previews, we see Liz calling Russell out on his lies, and Russell has a tendency of getting his way. I could see him being able to successfully convince everyone to oust Liz. However, I could also see Liz managing to escape Russell’s wrath.
|
Yasmin
4th Boot
I don’t think Yasmin understands why she was booted out. She was definitely on the confrontational side, which didn’t help her, and I understand wanting to save energy for challenges, but doing nothing around camp isn’t looked favorably upon. Seeing her walk very slowly down the Tribal Council steps in her high heels after she was booted may be one of my favorite ‘Survivor’ scenes ever. Yasmin was booted in an 8-2 vote, becoming the fifth castaway to leave ‘Survivor Samoa’.
|
Ben
3rd Boot
Ben did not play the game well. He seemed to have the right skills for survival, but clearly the social skills were lacking. He incessantly picked fights with someone, never a good strategy on ‘Survivor’. And he even had a key player fighting for him, but in the end, Ben had already done too much irreparable damage, causing him to be the fourth castaway to exit ‘Survivor Samoa’.
|
Betsy
2nd Boot
Betsy had some rough luck. If Mike hadn’t been medically removed from the game, she would probably still be in the game, as Mike would have been the clear target. Unfortunately for Betsy, none of her efforts had any effect, as the tribe had already decided her fate. Betsy became the third castaway to exit ‘Survivor Samoa’.
|
Mike
Medical Evacuation
I feel bad for Mike. Going out in the challenge like that is a bad way to leave the game, but if he hadn’t been medically removed from the game after the challenge, I think he would have been voted off at Tribal Council anyway. Mike became the second castaway to exit ‘Survivor Samoa’ after being medically removed from the game due to low blood pressure and difficulty breathing.
|
Marisa
1st Boot
Marisa seemed to be a somewhat decent physical competitor, but it all came crashing down for her quickly. She was right to be wary of Russell H., but admitting it to his face was not a good strategy. Always lie and say you are with someone you just allied with! Turn the tables on them instead of letting them oust you. Marisa made a critical mistake, and while it may not have affected her on other seasons, she was dealing with the supposedly most evil player in ‘Survivor’ history. Marisa became the first castaway to exit ‘Survivor Samoa’ in a 7-3 vote.
