Survivor 33: I's ‘the people I trust versus the people you trust’.
A Stimpy Snarkfest
November 10, 2016

The revenge must continue.
Greetings once again, fans of Survivor: Millennials vs. Gen X! Episode eight is now in the books!

Thus it once again falls to me, Stimpy, your humble (ha!) scribe to bid you hail and welcome to the Snarkfest.

Thus it once again falls to me, Stimpy, your humble (ha!) scribe to bid you hail and welcome to the Snarkfest.

Lot’s of maddening stuff to get to, and we shall in short order.

But first!

Okay so everyone can relax. The Washington Huskies are now ranked fourth by the Playoff Committee. Well, unless you’re from Ohio State. Because now YOU’RE pissed that they didn’t deign to put you - a one-loss team - above Washington like the Committee did last week with Texas A&M. No I don’t understand all the hoopla. Teams only need be concerned with where they’re ranked AFTER December the third.

On another note, I bet against TCU and guess what ONE game I lost last week. Apologies Coach Patterson. I won’t be weak like that again and shall trust in the Horned Frogs.

Comments from last week’s Snarkfest

Let's start with this: 'Michaela with her sticks and shells was outlining her own path to victory with Jay, Will and Hannah.'

As the bard would say: Fucking-A she was!

Regardless of your follow up point about whether any of them had been aligned with her before, that was a key 'hubris-edit moment'.

Michaela went about detailing down to the minor minutiae, without the slightest concern that any one of them could have stood up and said 'so who goes first when we're down to five?'.

Hell, I'd go so far as to say with the attitude she had at that point Michaela would have told Jay he was toast because he was a challenge threat, and her preferred F3 was herself with Will (who?) and Sunday (when?).

Suffice it to say you detailed Michaela's missteps wonderfully here, from her simply envisioning them as a 'solid five', rather than a haphazardly thrown together group, to understanding loyalty. I also agree that there are TOO MANY times when a male of the species is gonna get his nose outta joint when it's a female outlining strategy.

The funny thing is, it could have been Will with the rocks and shells, and Jay STILL would have given his 'maybe we should target Michaela' confessional.

That's kind of addressing the future point you made about how Michaela had said 'if she was a man', and I do partially agree with that. However, I do also partially agree with you that Michaela didn't realize she was in a competition, and she DID go mano y mano and lose.

While I agree that Figgy and Michaela were shown the door because they thought of themselves as being in a position of leadership, but I think it goes even further than that: Comfort in numbers.

So, on that count Ce Ce fits the bill too. We have numbers? I'm good and I don't need to be concerned or do anything. Certainly Figgy and Michaela thought they were on the upper tier of the pecking order, but the way Ce Ce was just oh so dismissive of Michelle, showed where her head was at.

Totally on point about Bret and Sunday's passive dullness. I mean for crying out loud (and I SHOULD have addressed this last week), but you're STANDING RIGHT there!!!! Jay is stunned - STUNNED I tells ya! Michaela is as giddy as a school girl. It couldn't have been more clearly mapped out for them with a giant neon sign over Michaela's head saying 'she wasn't really aligned with Figgy AND she helped out the tribe that Bret's man Dave is on!'.

But I did kind of address it when we got Bret's woe-is-me confessional about 'hey this is Survivor and anything can happen', and noted that often times its better to MAKE something happen.

Other than that I'm a bit loathe to Monday-morning Quarterback (or Thursday-morning Survivor) what Michaela coulda, woulda, shoulda done.

I am gonna disagree with you about Jessica. First off, she hasn't done ANYTHING yet. So don't cast aspersions for her musing out loud. Like she said: Adam has shown himself to have some strategic acumen. Taylor? Not so much.

All Jessica is doing is keeping her options open, and at present, I will not fault anyone for that kind of thinking.

Lastly, I would love to see Michaela get a second kick at the can, and see if like some of the better returning players we've seen in the past, she shows she's learned how to adapt a bit. Or as you said: be less bossy.

Dunno that I'd say Jay 'killed' his chances last week. He may have severely wounded them, and even disfigured them, but killed outright? Again, dunno.

I will caution you on one.....
