Survivor China: Ranking The Top Nine
By Logan Huffman
November 2, 2007
This week on 'Survivor', Peih-Gee worked to try to keep James' trust, suspicious that the tribes may merge, and they would need him. At Fei Long, Courtney was angry that Todd and Amanda voted off Sherea instead of Jean-Robert, which frustrated Todd and Amanda.

At Zhan Hu, James retrieved the second Hidden Immunity Idol, but not before accidentally knocking off the wrong side and leaving it on the ground. Jaime and Erik came upon it, and believed it was the Idol. Jaime rifled through James' bag, and when she realized that he had two Idols like hers, she was convinced that she had another.

Peih-Gee's suspicions proved correct, as when the tribes arrived at their challenge, Jeff told them to drop their buffs, and the tribes merged, becoming the Hae Da Fung tribe, which means black fighting wind in Chinese.

Jeff sent the newly merged tribe to a celebratory feast, reminding them that the game never stops. After the feast had ended, Jeff came to their camp, and he told them that he hoped that they had listened to his advice, as the first Individual Immunity Challenge would be questions about their feast and the events that took place at it. Despite proclaiming that he was screwed before the challenge, Frosti won the first Individual Immunity, ensuring his safety at Tribal Council.

Back at camp, Todd and Amanda wanted to get rid of Jaime, but Jean-Robert wanted Peih-Gee out, which worried James that the vote would go haywire. The old Zhan Hu members worked to sway Courtney and Frosti to their side, and tried to ensure that James was still with them.

At Tribal Council, old tribal lines remained drawn in the sand, and Jaime became the seventh castaway to be voted off of 'Survivor China', and the first member of the jury.
James
Current Ranking: 1 - Previous Ranking: 3

James jumps up to the top of the scoreboard this week. Now having both Hidden Immunity Idols in tow, James seems unstoppable. Unless Todd can actually manage to blindside James and take both Hidden Immunity Idols out of the game as next week's previews indicate, James will be going very, very far in the game.
Todd
Current Ranking: 2 - Previous Ranking: 1

Todd drops one position to number two on this week's scoreboard. Todd is still controlling this game and the outcome of the votes. He is playing fairly smart for now, but he has to be sure not to burn too many bridges, as we've all seen how bitter 'Survivor' jury members can be at the end.
Amanda
Current Ranking: 3 - Previous Ranking: 2

Amanda drops one position to number three on this week's scoreboard. She is aligned with Todd, but everyone is viewing Todd as the bad guy instead of her, which could really work out for her in the end, as Amanda is clearly in no danger at this point.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Frosti
Current Ranking: 4 - Previous Ranking: 4

Frosti retains his ranking this week. He performed well in the Individual Immunity Challenge, which is probably a sign of things to come, and he is in an alliance with Todd and Amanda, which should serve him well for now. Frosti is in no immediate danger.
Denise
Current Ranking: 5 - Previous Ranking: 6

Denise moves up one position to number five on this week's scoreboard. Denise is in an alliance with Todd and Amanda right now, and while she is continuing to lay low, that strategy should work for her for right now.
Courtney
Current Ranking: 6 - Previous Ranking: 10

After a temporary drop, Courtney returns to sixth place this week. Although Courtney is in an alliance with Todd and Amanda, I'm not sure how safe she is. She is way too flaky for anyone to trust, and if Todd and Amanda can find a good replacement for Courtney, she will be gone in a flash. One piece of advice for Courtney: Don't battle your group on every single decision they make!
Jean-Robert
Current Ranking: 7 - Previous Ranking: 9

Jean-Robert moves up two positions this week by default. He is in a much better position now that the tribes have merged, as he is now not on, or near, the top of the target list. Even though Courtney still hates him, Todd and Amanda need his vote right now, so he should be safe for a while.
Erik
Current Ranking: 8 - Previous Ranking: 7

Erik drops to number eight on this week's scoreboard. Like Peih-Gee, Erik is also in a bad position, and is high on Fei Long's list of targets. If Erik doesn't make a power play soon, he'll be joining his friend Jaime on the jury.
Peih-Gee
Current Ranking: 9 - Previous Ranking: 5

Peih-Gee falls to last place this week. She is Fei Long's next target, and she is in major trouble. She will either need to make some kind of alliance, or win Immunity. If she doesn't do either of those things, she is finished.
Jaime
7th Boot

This wasn't too much of a shock to anyone besides Jaime. Fei Long had it out for her long before the merge, and when the tribes merged, we all knew she was their first target. Fei Long thought she was the biggest threat, but she didn't really seem to try to do anything to save herself. In the end, even her fake Hidden Immunity Idol couldn't save her, as Jaime became the seventh castaway to be voted off of 'Survivor China' in a 7-3 vote. She is the first member of this season's seven member jury.
Sherea
6th Boot

As soon as Sherea's name was called to switch tribes, she knew it was going to be an uphill battle. Sherea was a very physically strong player, and it would have been interesting to see how she would have performed in the individual Immunity Challenges. Her pissy attitude throughout the entire episode, along with her mouthing off at Tribal Council didn't really help her cause either, and in a 5-2 vote, Sherea became the sixth castaway to be voted off of 'Survivor China'.
Aaron
5th Boot

I'm not surprised to see Aaron go, but if you had asked me last week, it would have been a different story. I actually wish he could have stayed around longer, as I think he would have evolved into an even more interesting player. Aaron was in one of the best positions in the game, but this tribal switch was his downfall. His last ditch vote for James was a very smart play, but unfortunately for Aaron, Zhan Hu had a different plan in mind, as Aaron became the fifth castaway to be voted off of 'Survivor China' in 3-1-1 vote.
Dave
4th Boot

We all knew this was coming. Although Dave really tried to lead his tribe well, his leadership style was too bossy and divisive. His tribe gave him the benefit of the doubt one time and voted off Ashley, but Sherea's physicality in challenges won out this time, which spelled the end for Dave, as he was unanimously voted off of 'Survivor China' in a 5-1 vote.
Leslie
3rd Boot

I'm not surprised that this happened. Leslie made herself a target from the very first day when she didn't participate in the ceremony with the others. She seemed to be meshing with her tribe alright, but being kidnapped by Zhan Hu was her downfall. She came right back to her tribe and talked about how well she bonded with the Christians: Erik, Sherea, and Jaime. A four-person alliance is powerful, and they couldn't take the chance that she could jump ship at the merge. Combine that with her lack of strength, and you have a winning combination for elimination. Leslie became the third castaway to be voted off of 'Survivor China' in a 6-2 vote.
Ashley
2nd Boot

I am not at all surprised that Ashley is gone. You have to lay low and stay out of arguments with people, especially in the very beginning of the game, and she just couldn't do that with Dave. I think that if she had just stayed a little more calm and quiet, Dave would have gone instead. But, that didn't happen, and Ashley became the second castaway voted off of 'Survivor China' in a 6-1 vote.
Chicken
1st Boot

I can't say I'm completely surprised by Chicken's dismissal. He obviously didn't fit in to his tribe, and even he knew that. I think he could have overcome his differences with the tribe, but he really dug his own grave. Although the tribe didn't listen to his original suggestions, completely blowing them off when he was directly asked for his opinion was a stupid move. Ultimately, his inability to make a decision led to his demise, as Chicken became the first castaway to be voted off of 'Survivor China' in a 5-2-1 vote.
