Survivor Micronesia
Week Twelve
The Dumbest Player Ever!
Score Board By: Logan Huffman
May 9, 2008
This week on 'Survivor', Natalie and Erik felt blindsided by Alexis' departure, agreeing to send each other to Exile Island if they won the Reward Challenge, trying to force Cirie, Parvati, and Amanda to turn on each other. Meanwhile, Amanda also worked Erik, trying to keep her alliance in control of the game.
At the Reward Challenge, Erik emerged victorious, earning a spa trip via helicopter to another island. Erik chose Amanda to accompany him, angering Natalie with his betrayal. Erik also sent Parvati to Exile Island, which irked Natalie even further. But feeling safe, Parvati didn't even bother to search for the Hidden Idol on Exile Island. Back at camp, Cirie played with Natalie's mind, trying to raise her paranoia to a whole new level.
After Amanda and Erik returned from their reward, Natalie wouldn't even speak to Erik, while the girls compared notes with each other, figuring out that Erik had promised them all exactly the same thing.
At the Immunity Challenge, Erik won yet again, ensuring himself a spot in the final four, and frustrating the women. Back at camp, Cirie pretty much confirmed to Natalie that she would be leaving the island.
However, Cirie devised a plan: Natalie would go to Erik and try to convince him to give her his Immunity necklace, which would redeem his loyalty to Cirie, and the three of them would team up to boot Amanda. As Erik pondered the idea, Cirie pushed the idea on him even harder, and instructed Amanda and Parvati to lash out at Erik at Tribal Council.
At Tribal Council, the remaining players and the jury alike stared on in disbelief as Erik gave away his guaranteed final four spot to Natalie. And Erik quickly learned that he had made one of the biggest mistakes of his life, as the women unanimously booted him from 'Survivor Micronesia'.
Cirie
Current Ranking - 1 Previous Ranking - 2
Cirie moves up to the top of the scoreboard heading into the finals. Cirie is one of the best 'Survivor' players ever, and she has really proved that this season. Her plan this week was amazingly, astonishingly brilliant. Natalie had her defeatist attitude, and never thought Cirie's crazy plan would work. Cirie devised the plan, and all four girls worked together to accomplish it. Cirie has played the game the best this season, and deserves it more than anyone.
Amanda
Current Ranking - 2 Previous Ranking - 1
Amanda drops down to second place heading into the finals. Amanda is also in a great position to win the game. Amanda knows how to play 'Survivor', and she has played it well once again, even thought she did have a few bumpy weeks thrown in there. However, Amanda's fate may turn out exactly the same as last time: Amanda had the game in her hands, but blew it with her answers to the jury. Will history repeat itself once again, or has Amanda finally redeemed herself?
Parvati
Current Ranking - 3 Previous Ranking - 4
Parvati comes in third place on the second to last scoreboard of the season. Parvati has played the game well once again, but she has more blood on her hands than anyone, and this jury seems bitter this season. Parvati is a great player, but unfortunately, I think she has made too many enemies this season to emerge victorious.
Natalie
Current Ranking - 4 Previous Ranking - 5
First off, I have to give Natalie some props. She is the last standing favorite, which is a feat in itself, and she played Erik very well this week. However, Natalie is in a bad position. She'll need to win the challenge to even make it to the jury, and even if she does, I don't think her chances are very good. While Natalie has been a good, solid player, she is nowhere in the leagues of Parvati, Amanda, and Cirie. Natalie's chances of winning the game are about as good as someone giving up a guaranteed final four spot…oh wait, you never know.
Erik
Sixteenth Boot - Sixth Jury Member
Dumb ass, dumb ass, dumb ass. I'm not sure what else to say. Erik is officially the stupidest player in 'Survivor' history. He gave up a guaranteed final four spot to try and "redeem" himself. I hate to break this to him, but redemption is useless if you don't even make the finals. Who cares if everyone hates you? You have to actually make it to the finals to have everyone vote against you, and at least you can possibly sway them with your speech and answers. Nevertheless, Erik threw away an almost-sure spot in the finals. He should have sent Natalie to Exile Island, and obviously, he shouldn't have given Natalie his necklace. He will regret this forever, and will never live it down. After performing the most idiotic move in not just 'Survivor', but reality show history, Erik became the sixteenth castaway to be voted off of 'Survivor Micronesia', and because he is so stupid, he has to be on the jury now.
Alexis
Fifteenth Boot - Fifth Jury Member
I know Alexis wasn't expecting this, and I don't think many of us at home were, either. Alexis fell victim to another blindside of 'Survivor Micronesia', and her biggest mistake was assuming that Amanda didn't have the Idol. She and Natalie could have split the vote towards someone else, and she may have stayed in the game. Nevertheless, Alexis became the fifteenth person to exit 'Survivor Micronesia' in a 2-4 vote, after Amanda saved herself with the Hidden Immunity Idol, making her and Parvati's vote enough to send Alexis to the jury to help decide the winner of this season of 'Survivor'.
James
Fourteenth Person To Exit 'Survivor Micronesia' - Fourth Jury Member
This isn't really a huge shock. This season has had a lot of unexpected exits. Even though I'm not a fan of James, I feel bad for him, because it has to be hard to go a month out there and get pulled from the game under those circumstances. Anyone would rather be voted off. However, I think James would have been leaving this week regardless, so it is what it is. After the doctor refused to let him continue, James was yanked from the game, becoming the fourteenth castaway to exit 'Survivor Micronesia', but he will return as the fourth member of the jury to help decide the winner of this season.
Jason
Thirteenth Boot – Third Jury Member
This is irony at its best. Jason reveled in Ozzy’s failure to use his Idol, yet the exact same fate was bestowed upon him. After having such a shaky status in the tribe, Jason should have used his Idol and worked on his relationships after he was sure he was staying. However, like Ozzy, Jason didn’t use his Idol either, causing him to become the thirteenth person to exit ‘Survivor Micronesia’ in a 4-3-1 vote, but he will return as the third member of the jury that will decide the winner.
Ozzy
Twelfth Boot - Second Jury Member
Ozzy’s elimination was probably one of the most fantastic votes in ‘Survivor’ history. Ozzy had everything he needed to win the game this time around: the Hidden Idol, a strong alliance, the athletic ability, and the smarts. However, Cirie outwitted Ozzy, and even though James warned him that Parvati could flip, Ozzy wanted to hold on to the Idol. Ozzy’s plan backfired, leading to one of the most spectacular boots in ‘Survivor’ history, as Ozzy became the twelfth castaway to exit ‘Survivor Micronesia’ in a 5-4 vote. However, Ozzy will return as the second member of the jury, helping to determine which castaway will emerge from the game a million dollars richer.
Eliza
Eleventh Boot – First Jury Member
This was not a shock at all. Eliza is a smart player, but she just seems to have a problem with the social aspect of her game. She got in a decent alliance at first, but no one would have predicted that Ami, Jonathan, and Yau-Man would be out so early. Eliza did well with the tribal switch, but she was back in her same position once the merge occurred. However, I do give her props for outing Ozzy on having the real Idol and leaving him that huge problem to deal with after her departure. In an 8-2 vote, Eliza became the eleventh castaway to exit ‘Survivor Micronesia’, but she will return as the first jury member to help decide who will win the game.
