So You Think You Can Dance 6: The Solos Didn't Change Their Minds
Recap by Jenny Lane
November 19, 2009
Last night on So You Think You Can Dance, the remaining seven couples took the stage. Here’s what everyone danced:

Ashleigh and Jakob – Hip Hop
Karen and Kevin – Broadway
Noelle and Russell – Foxtrot
Channing and Victor – Jazz
Kathryn and Legacy – Paso Doble
Ellenore and Ryan – Contemporary
Mollee and Nathan – Pop Jazz

If I had to make a guess, I’d say that Mollee and Nathan will be in the bottom, and probably also Karen and Kevin. As for who might go home, I think of those four dancers, it would be Mollee and Kevin who would be sent home.

Tonight’s results show starts off with a group number to “Aha!” by Imogene Heap. The dancers are dressed in white and beige half shirts, sashes, short shorts, tube tops and loose pants. As five of them dance around, there are pedestals with white sheets covering something that is sitting on them. Eventually, the sheets come off to reveal the rest of the dancers. The dancers on the pedestals are supposed to be art that was sitting under the sheets. The first twenty seconds of the piece is interesting, and then it all starts to look the same.

Tonight, Cat is wearing a short little lacy pink number. After the judges are introduced, Nigel weighs in on last night’s show. He says he feels the show is back on track now, and the remaining dancers know “they’re in a competition, they realize they’ve got to go for it.”

Cat brings out the first two couples, Ashleigh and Jakob, and Karen and Kevin. After a look back on Ashleigh and Jakob’s performance last night, Cat tells them that they’re safe (no surprise). Karen and Kevin didn’t fare as well, they’re one of the bottom three couples (also no surprise).

Adam says he’s not surprised that Karen and Kevin are in the bottom, but they’re two of the most poised and elegant dancers who have been on the show. He says they have to “slaughter tonight” with their solos, since it’s the second time they’ve been in the bottom three.

Three more couples are now onstage with Cat – Ellenore and Ryan, Noelle and Russell, and Channing and Victor. If one of these couples is in the bottom three, my money’s on Channing and Victor. I think Ellenore and Ryan did too well last night to be in the bottom, and of course I want Noelle and Russell to be safe.

Ellenore and Ryan are up first, which makes me think they must be safe. Cat tells them that they are indeed safe, and Ellenore does her best to look surprised.

We look back on the other two couples, and then Cat tells Channing and Victor that they’re in the bottom three. That means that Noelle and Russell are safe.

Mary says Channing and Victor are.....
