So You Think You Can Dance 6: Krumper Locks The Top Spot! Top 20 Rankings

Welcome to Season Six of So You Think You Can Dance, everybody!
I know the sixth season has been underway for quite a few weeks with many audition and Vegas episodes, but now the top twenty are constructed, the true competition is really about to begin.
Like many of you, I felt last season was slightly lackluster, and I am hoping Season Six will be as good as the best of the seasons, those being Seasons Two and Four. The primary reason why Season Five was problematic was that a lot of people didn’t have the star quality to really define themselves as breakout dancers like prior seasons.
Even the best contestants like Brandon were relatively shy and reserved, so it was no wonder Jeanine, a person no one had heard about prior to the top twenty, was the actual winner.
Also, the judges pre-live show pimping of Evan and his unique style turned out to be disastrous, as Evan made it to the finale over many dancers who outperformed him at every step of the competition. Yet, that was not the worst part about last season – the worst part was a combination of the Cancer Routine that indirectly resulted in the unfair elimination of the best contestant last season, the versatile and amazing Janette!
The fact that the producers allowed such a routine to be done is preposterous. The other dancers who did not participate in the routine were at a severe disadvantage, because the content of the routine in itself demanded viewers to vote otherwise they were uncaring individuals. I can guarantee anyone out there that if that piece was not performed, and if Melissa would have not been involved, that Melissa would have left the night that Janette left, and Janette would have easily made it to the finale.
The point of the matter was, the routine indirectly caused the best contestant of the entire season, who should have won, to go home, and it just goes to show you that viewer manipulation by producers and choreographers is a grotesque and unfair thing. I nearly threw up in my mouth when Nigel awarded the routine as the best dance in all six seasons. No Nigel, that award goes to Joshua and Katee’s “No Air” Hip-Hop routine!
In any event, I am hoping no pimping or producer manipulation comes into play that will negatively affect the outcome of the competition like it did last season. So as it stands, now that the top twenty has been constructed, there are quite a few unknowns this season, and a few that stand out for either the right or wrong reasons.
Usually I deliver a commentary as a prelude to my rankings, but I think because it is so early in the season and we don’t know too much about the contestants, I am going to just delve right into the crux of the top twenty, and give my rankings. My title alone should have given away who is at the top.
Before we get started I just wanted to confirm with everyone that the rumors are true: Billy Bell has left the competition due to an illness, so obviously he will not be in the rankings. However, those of you who are fans and wish to know where I would have ranked him had he still been in the competition, I will satisfy your curiosity. Billy Bell would have ranked second because of the judges adoration of him, his beyond amazing dancing in contemporary style, and his enthusiasm overall.
However, he would not have received the top spot because I have really only seem him perform one style, and he admitted on camera that hip-hop was a struggle for him, so my biggest issue with Billy was the fact he was not a versatile dancer. So, I am sorry for those of you were Billy fans, but as I stated previously he will not be a member of the SYTYCD Season Six top twenty!
Ok, now that that piece of sad news is over, let us move forward as best we can and see my rankings for the top twenty of Season Six of So You Think You Can Dance:
