So You Think You Can Dance 6: Billy Bell’s Doppelganger Impresses in a Huge Way! Top 18 Rankings

Better than Billy.
Wow, I did not think I was going to be ranking the contestants again so soon! It turns out there is no results night, and the voting will be nullified this week due to the football game.
I am not sure how to react, except for the fact that I am willing to turn a complete blind eye to the fact that Russell was in the bottom four after the first performance show. Ok, so maybe his footwork on the stage glides was not Gene Kelly, but honestly the dude was freaking brilliant! He totally nailed the character, and his lines were ridiculously amazing. There was no way in hell that Russell would have been in danger this week if the fans had been voting.
Peter, who was partnered with Ariana, should have been the other contestant in the bottom four. My only rationalization has to be that Russell didn’t have Noelle as his partner, only choreographer Melany, and because of that he had to be penalized. Still, I call that decision crap as Russell has shown he is the most surprising and excitable contestant to participate on the program in many seasons.
However, Russell will probably end up in the number two spot tonight because of one glaring contestant who made my jaw drop to the floor. That person’s name is Jakob Karr, or who I had referred to as “Billy Bell’s doppelganger.” I know that Billy Bell fans, which I know there are millions out there, will probably hate me for saying this, but Jakob Karr is better than Billy Bell.
Billy had problems with his pasty hands and his overall placement of movement. Jakob Karr has none of that. In fact, I am going on record saying that Jakob Karr is probably the most gifted dancer the show has seen since Blake from Season One. Yes, he is technically more impressive than Brandon, Danny, and Travis combined.
Holy crap, where did that kid come from? My only concern is that he takes so much away from his partner that he comes across as a kid who is saying “Hey look at me! I’m the best!” What I am concerned about is if he draws too much attention to himself, like Blake did in his season, he could be shockingly ousted in favor of more likeable contestants like Russell and Nathan. But talk about a first impression – can you believe I ranked this miracle child in fifteenth place last time?
I also have to say that I am ecstatic my personal favorite on the show, Ashleigh, is partnered with Jakob, because I know they will go far together. Yeah, Ashleigh’s hands may look a little over-emphasized at times, but the girl knows how to be sultry. What she lacks in technique and what Jakob lacks in sensuality, they both bring together and form a synthesis that makes them an exciting couple to watch.
Other couples I felt were excellent this week were Ellenore and Ryan, Karen and Kevin, and shockingly Mollee and Nathan.
Ellenore, Ryan, and Sonya were.....
