So You Think You Can Dance 6: Ashleigh Drops Viewers To Their Knees In Awe
Commentary and Rankings by Joseph Braverman

I'm in awe.
What a great week it has been on So You Think You Can Dance.
After a somewhat lackluster first week of forgettable performances, the majority of performances tonight hit it out of the park and kept on flying.
However, only one couple captivated my heart to the full extent possible on this show. There are performances on this show, and then there are magic moments. Ashleigh and Jakob’s wedding waltz was just one of those moments for me. I know a lot of people are probably thinking I’m crazy for falling so in love with this routine, but the routine contained a simplistic yet beautiful story as well as incorporating two of my favorite dancers this season.
I was worried that Jakob wouldn’t have the appropriate chemistry needed with Ashleigh. I’m paraphrasing Tyce Diorio when he said he worried Jakob and Ashleigh wouldn’t have the man-woman connection going on for obvious reasons. That being said, I was thoroughly impressed. Usually kisses on this show seem contrived, forced, and overemphasized for dramatic effect, but Ashleigh and Jakob’s kiss was easily the single best kiss that a couple has done on this show. The kiss was pure, respectful, and loving. It simply was. When the two came out under the archway, it really did look like the two were on a wedding cake, and the two just carried the emotion throughout their whole performance.
Now, I need a talk about Ashleigh separately.
I know there are haters out there who think this girl is untalented, but I am so ecstatic I am one of the very few commentators who publicly support her, because she doesn’t have a lot of fan support out there right now which is bewildering to me.
She is beautiful, elegant, has great lines, and captures the character well. It is crazy how much she has grown from her first audition, which wasn’t that impressive, to where she is now. Ashleigh brought me down my knees in awe after this routine, and I was ready to propose to her myself.
I know I may be the biggest Ashleigh fan out there, but I have to give this girl props and wholly agree with the judges. Each week she is getting better, and she never seems cocky or looks above the dance. She simply is the embodiment of the dance in the strength of her character and her dancing. For me Ashleigh, you are golden. When this girl gets kicked off the show, you will see a very angry commentator.
Everyone knows I was a huge Janette fan last year, but there’s something even more fun about rooting for Ashleigh because she is such an underdog on the show. Everyone wants her to do bad and get kicked off, and she keeps proving the haters wrong. You hear me haters, Ashleigh rocks!
Ok, even though it’s hard for me, I have to switch gears away from Ashleigh and talk about the other contestants. The ones that stood out for me were Legacy, Kathryn, Peter, Nathan, and Ellenore. The ones who stuck out like a sore thumb were Channing, Phillip, Bianca, and Victor. For the first five I mentioned, I have to really commend Legacy and Kathryn for proving me wrong.
As everyone knows, I love being.....
